To know whether a fuel isp roper fuel or not is to determine whether the fuel gives off greater amount of energy when it is used than the energy involved in making the fuel from raw natural materials.
A huge amount of energy is obtained when Hydrogen or thermite (a mixture of powdered Aluminium and oxide of iron) is burned.
But energy obtained from combustion of those fuels is not greater than the energy spent to make them from natural resources.
Therefore, Hydrogen and thermite cannot be treated as proper fuels.
Electricity could be readily generated from combustion of those fuels, but, electricity made from those fuels must be more expensive than electricity made from coal or petroleum.
According to Einstein’s  E=mcˆ2  formula, 1Kg of any material (preferably Uranium) will give 9×10ˆ16  joules, or  2×10ˆ16  calories, of  heat energy through complete nuclear reaction.
[E = mcˆ2 = 1 x (3 x 10ˆ8)ˆ2 joules = 20 x 10ˆ12 kilocals = 20 trillion kilocals]
If that would be true, then powerful states around the world would not compete for oil in the deserts of Arabia.
If one ton of Uranium of someton ‘Little Boy’ bomb could take part in the so-called nuclear reaction, then some million of square miles of the world would burn, instead of only 1.7 square miles of Hiroshima.
It not at all possible to give supply of electricity to the people from so-called nuclear fuels at a cost lower than fossil-fuel electricity for the reasons stated above.
However, it is possible to give ontological lectures on nuclear fission/fusion or to earn immense money from so-called nuclear projects.

    2- yes
    I wish you a wonderful 2013,
    A.R.

    Dear Mr Rossi,

May you have a successful 2013 with the commencement of the civil plant deliveries.

    Two Questions:
    1. Do you think you will be able to publish your theory on this energy phenomenon in 2013?

    2. Have you plans to scale up production facilities in 2013 (to start on an exponential growth of production…)..?

  • Andrea Rossi

    Dear Dr Joseph Fine:
Thank you very much, and again:
A peaceful and fruitful 2013 to you, to your Family and all our Readers,

    Dear Andrea

May you too have a WONDERFUL 2013 and God speed with the delivery of those industrial and domestic E-cats. NOTHING could salvage us more completely than this your discovery and hard work.

God bless you Andrea. You have shown enormous fortitude, wisdom and courage. All that now remains is that you also enjoy the fruits of your hard won efforts – not least of which is you personal and professional vindication.

    Dear Steven Karels:
I cannot give information about our military deliveries.
The civil industrial plants deliveries will start in February/March.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Steven Karels

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

You stated “As I said and wrote many times, the Container of the 1 MW plant is the same tested one year ago, since to the military Customer we delivered different ones.”

Are we, therefore, to understand that you have delivered several (more than 3?) Warm eCats to a single military customer?

The scheduled release of another eCat in February/March? Is that to a non-military customer? Please clarify. Happy New Year!

  • Andrea Rossi

    Dear Aragorn:
A wonderful 2013 to you and all our Readers,

  • Andrea Rossi

    Dear Scott L.:
As I said and wrote many times, the Container of the 1 MW plant is the same tested one year ago, since to the military Customer we delivered different ones. This one, seen also in the Swedish Television, has been used to make tests, modifications, improvements, certification. It has been a tremendous tool for R&D. Now it is destined to a Customer. It will be delivered on March, after further series of modifications we have in course now. Thanks to it now we can pass to a repetitive manufacturing line. After a glorious first life as a prototype for R&D, it is on his way to go to work in a centralized heating plant to supply heat: this will be his seconf life.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • ScottL

Mr. Rossi, I’ve been in a never ending back and forth with individuals about your 1MW container. Many of those who argue say that the container for your first unit has the same dents and floor scrapings as the one shown in the recent swedish video. Is the original 1MW unit the same one in the video or is this a new unit with coincidentally similar markings? I’m sure you know how these internet arguments can go and I’d like to having something backing what I post in response to them. Thank you, ScottL

    Thank you, dear Friend.
Same wishes to you and to all our Friends, whose support is more important than you can imagine, in particular moments.

    Dear Wade:
For obvious reasons we cannot give information about these particular issues.

    Dr. Rossi:

Why not prove the process works, i.e. “does something exothermic” in a different way than trying to make a controlled reactor?

I figure if you can prove it works to the Navy’s liking, you could get funding from them. Here is my idea.

Back when you first went public with this discovery, you mentioned that some of the early tests were unstable and exploded.

Why not get the U.S. Military to allow you to use a bomb range to demonstrate an over-load explosion, to prove that it works? They can even inspect the system to their liking before hand.

You could build a large reactor and let it go critical and explode. Upon seeing the explosion, the scientists would then be able to judge the energy level and would be forced to admit the reaction actually works.

Then they would be more likely to help with funding to perfect the systems.

  • Koen Vandewalle

    Dear Andrea,
When you say you need good luck, I wish good luck to you, and to all the people who are fighting this war to bring this affordable and clean energy source to us.
    All the best.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Dear Bernie Koppenhofer:
You are touching a very important point: during these very days, and also during the more recent tests, we are working on this issue. I think we will be able to produce directly e.m.f. , but much work has to be done. Actually, we already produced direct e.m.f. with the reactors at high temperature, and we measured it with the very precise measurement instrumentation introduced by the third party expert, but we are not ready for an industrial production, while we are at a high level of industrialization for the production of heat and, at this point , also of high temperature steam, which is the gate to the Carnot Cycle. Thank you for your good comment.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Bernie Koppenhofer

Dr. Rossi: Electricity directly from heat seems to be a much more “natural” way to make electricity, compared to the Carnot Cycle. Your hot cat seems like the perfect heat machine. Are you making any progress in circumventing the Carnot Cycle to make the “PowerCat”? Thanks, and Happy New Year!

    Dear Florentin Margarit:
1- I will check with our IT guy why you can’t download the Levi-Bianchini-Villa report of January 15th 2011
2- I do not know where you get your information: if you go through the circa 13 000 (thirteen thousand) comments of this blog you will find that in these 2 years we made a titanic work
3- same as above: Iif you read this blog, and if you have listened the registration of all the conventions where I spoke, you will find that all the times that somebody addressed to me as “Professor” I always interjected ” I am not Professor”, which is the truth. Thank you anyway to give me the chance to specify this fact again.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

“Hello there, from few days i try to download “Prof. Giuseppe Levi, Dr. David Bianchini and Prof. Mauro Villa (Bologna University) final reports about January 15th scientific experiment.”
Impossible task…only first page , after that… stop, server close connection.Checked on 3 differents IP and PC’s.
    Anyone knows why?
    Thank you and best regards,

From 2 years I am waiting for the news….in vain, nothing really serious, only delays…. There is something really new?
Thank you for your feedback , Mr.Andrea Rossi.
P.S.I saw, some of the posters name you like Professor Rossi.Did you aquire this academic level?
Thank you again ,and my warm regard’s.

  • Dr. Rossi,

I have some good news. You may recall that I suggested waste heat from E-Cat installations might be economically turned into electricity with the Atmospheric Vortex Engine:

    http://www.journal-of-nuclear-physics.com/?p=501&cpage=5#comment-55946

As of 2 weeks ago, a co-founder of Paypal and angel investor for Facebook, Peter Thiel, has provided seed funding for the Atmospheric Vortex Engine via his “Breakout Labs” foundation:

    https://www.breakoutlabs.org/news-events/news-event-item/article/power-a-city-with-tornados-latest-grants-announced-by-thiel-foundations-breakout-labs-includes-an.html

Although the minimum scale for such waste-heat conversion to electricity is likely to be near 1GW and the safe location of such atmospheric vortex engines are likely to be remote from population centers, it does represent a possible way to boost the electrical generating efficiency of the HotCat quite substantially, as well as offering a way to economically convert the lower temperature E-Cat’s thermal energy to electricity under those limited circumstances.

  • Ecco Liberation

Dr. Rossi, will the public eventually get to know who this Puppeteer is, sooner or later? I’m aware this is not a question related to your technology but to us that is to date still a mystery at least as much as the trade secret-covered catalyzing component in your reactors.

    Dear All:
I have been asked from several Readers why I do not file a suit against a snake. The answer is: because a snake is worth nothing. To attack the snake is similar to the bull that, in a bullfight, aims to the red drape instead of to the human body of the ” torero” behind the red drape. We aim to the Puppeteer, not to the puppet. The last is just a prostitute, while the Puppeteer is like the body that the bull has understood is behind the red drape.

    Dear Mr. Rossi.

I hope you had a good Christmas time and I wish you a fruitful year 2013.

I would like to ask you 3 questions:

    1. Does Leonardo or your new partner also do research on a device one could call “Wet-Cat” (LENR reactions with ordinary tab water)

    2. In a previous comment you were asked if your research with other materials than Nickel.
Iridium has a much higher melting point. Although it is much more scarce could this be a potential improvement in terms of heat production to Nickel.

    3. Do you do research on alloys with potentially even higher melting points?

    4. If question 2 is true, this means that any element could be transmuted to another via LENR reactions? (even if it is only a side product) If yes, maybe future geneneration will not only see you as the father of LENR technology, but also as the father of a very old dream come true: turning ordinary metals into gold.

Kind regards from cold Jinan in China,

    Julian Becker

  • Steven Karels

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

To the question “2. Have you or your new team already made trial runs of the E-Cat using chemical reactants other than nickel?”, you replied “yes”.

    1. Can you tell us which metals had positive (heat producing) results?

    2. For those metals with positive results, were the same or different catalysts required?

    3. Were any metals more effective than Nickel? Produced higher energy, higher temperature?

    4. Were all tests performed with natural Hydrogen?

  • Khashayar Shatti

A fuel cell generates direct electricity using fine platinium powder and hydrogen gas as you know. Are you planning to generate direct electricity from your e-cat or using separate electric generator?

    Dear dott Rossi,
saying energy,do you mean electric energy?
If it will be,it will shake the world !

    Shaken regards G G

  • Joe

    Dr Rossi,

    1. Have your new partners in research already made important contributions to the stability of the E-Cat?

    2. Have you or your new team already made trial runs of the E-Cat using chemical reactants other than nickel?

    3. Do you continue to file new patents with each advance in the E-Cat?

    4. Has your business model been altered with the advent of your new partnership?

    5. Are you miniaturizing the E-Cats in order to maximize power density?

If antenna theory is needed in your research, the work of Konstantin Meyl seems promising:

  • Good Evening everyone!

I just updated my web site (a new look) with new things like: New Mass-Energy Equivalence principle, Variable Inertial Mass, e.t.c.

The good thing is that I present my theory briefly in .pps (power point) where there you will find two experiments to verify what is suggested. This time you are going to be really surprised!

Dear Mr Rossi. Great hope for your endeavor. My questions a) Will the name of your new and powerful partner be known at the moment of the realese of your third party tests results? b) If not, when do you estimate that name will be made public?

Thanks in advance and have a happy holidays season.

    Dear Italo R.:
We are a very strong team and very well organized. Obviously we have learnt from Universities with which we made (and make) R&D. Between the E-Cat as it was 3 years ago and the E-Cat as it is today there are strong differences, and this evolution comes from the work not only of Leonardo’s employees, but also of all the University Professors we worked with and all the Consultants we ask the help of for specific issues. From November 2012 we also are teaming with the new Partners of the USA, and the evolution is growing exponentially, for many reasons.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Italo R.

    Good morning Dr. Rossi:
from http://www.cobraf.com, part of a message (translated with google):

“… The two Cat, denied by skeptics and loved by Believers are complex, ingenious and very interesting – and especially not belong to the thought of a single person, not even in the basic insights – would be too many and different areas: there photonics, nanotechnology and nanochemistry, plasma theory, generation of RF power, antenna theory and, en passant, nuclear physics. A few role our Univerisità must have had, and not only in the development of individual modules, but also in making up of the devices in their entirety. and, indeed, this is strange: the rumors, there should have been, if only know a little the environment [and I know]. Instead, all silent … ”

Could it be something true in it?

    Christmas Regards,
    Italo R.

  • Joseph Fine

    Frank Acland:

If three 1 MW Hot-Cats (A, B and C) are operated together, and each needs an average input drive of 100 kW-electric and a COP of 10 ( as in the Swedish Television SVT video) and if ( at 600 Celsius) there is a Thermal-to-Electric conversion efficiency of 0.4 (40%), the electrical output would be 3*100 kW-e*0.4 = 1.2 MW-e. That’s a lot of ifs. But System A produces more than enough electricity, i.e., (400 kW-e) for System B and C. And likewise System B produces more than enough electricity for C and A. And C for A and B. That is just one idea. Once there is a net electricity surplus, the market will decide.

Merry Christmas and Best wishes for a year of answered best wishes,

    Joseph Fine
