Identical mass has been charged in each reactor.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Dan C.:
The different behaviour of the different charges was expected and the opportunity to study the same likewise, no surprise at all. Therefore this phenomenon does not affect the evaluation of the test.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

    @Steven N. Karels

I think the kind of fuel (= the chemical composition) is different, but not the amount (= quantity or weight), which is an intelligent decision, to look for the best recipe.

    Kind Regards,

  • Dan C.

    Dear Andrea,

An E-cat reactor appears to be depleting it’s fuel. An initial reaction is how will this impact the test?

Not knowing the particulars of the agreement, I would surmise this could be considered a positive factor from a business perspective. The longevity of the fuel has been an unknown or best guesstimate. It may now be more fact based. Either as a potential investor or customer of Leonardo, I would find it hard to put solid $$ values to unknowns and these $$ values are important. Such values will likely impact whether this test is positive or negative.

So what is your perspective Dr. Rossi? Perhaps you would have preferred this happened after day 350 of operation, but below the 400 days so that you could let it play out to it’s conclusion.

    Warm regards,
    Dan C.

  • Steven N. Karels

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

I am confused. You posted “I charged differently the 4 reators to test different combinations.” and you posted “. no, the amount is the same.”.

When you stated that you charged differently the four reactors, did you mean that different amounts of fuel were used (with identical mixtures) or that identical amounts (i.e., mass) of fuel were used with different mixtures? Please clarify.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Steven N. Karels:
    a. no
    b. no, the amount is the same.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • DTravchenko

    Dear Andrea Rossi
So you have charged the reactors with 4 different blendings: do these blendings remain in the coverage of your great US Patent?
    Warm Regards,
    DT

  • Steven N. Karels

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

    I must ask the questions

    a. Is the reactor that is showing signs of fuel depletion the reactor with the least amount of fuel present during assembly?

    b. I would guess that the relative amount of fuel in the other reactors would have fuel mass ratios (compared to the least fueled reactor) of 1.1, 1.2, 1.5. Is this roughly correct or did you chose another set of ratios?

  • Andrea Rossi

    Bernie Morrissey:
    I cannot give this information.
Warm Regards and Best Wishes to you from all our Team.
    A.R.

  • Bernie Morrissey

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

I want to wish you and all your team a Merry Christmas.
Since the current test started can you tell us how many days so far do not count toward the 350 successful days needed of the 400? Thanks
    Bernie

  • Andrea Rossi

    Steven N. Karels:
    1- yes
    2- to be evaluated
    3- obviously
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Steven N. Karels

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

If the one reactor showing possible initial signs of fuel depletion:

    a. It would be interesting to predict the same occurrence with the other reactors based on their initial fuel loading
    b. Will the test continue until some or all of the other reactors demonstrate similar conditions?
    c. Does this make you a “Master Chef” as you “cook” your recipe to perfection?

  • Andrea Rossi

    Oeistein Lande:
    Sure!
    Warm Regards
    A.R.

  • Øystein Lande

    Dear Mr Rossi

May be Falcon 9 (=F9, hehe) being a success so far is a good sign also for your F9, haha.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Steven N. Karels:
I charged differently the 4 reators to test different combinations.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Steven N. Karels

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

When asked if the 250kW eCat reactors used in the 1MW system initially had identical amounts of fuel, you replied No.

Was it your intention to load different fuel amounts, in what otherwise would be identical reactors, to investigate reactor performance as fuel exhaustion is approached?

  • Andrea Rossi

    Reta:
No, it has nothing to do with safety issues.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Dan C.:
I take advice of the information that the steel panties will be delivered by Amazon together with the crystal ball; as a consequence of this intelligence portray, I thought opportune to delay the before mentioned interaction with the gods.
Now, let’s switch from important things into amenities:
1- to change the charges of the 250 kW E-Cats is not an easy task and this is one of the weak points of our design that we have to correct
2- the best solution is to change when needed
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

    HH:
Thank you, see also the answer I just gave to Ing. Michelangelo De Meo.

    Ing. Michelangelo De Meo:
Popular Mechanics is a leader magazine for technological divulgation in the USA and it is important their attention to our work. The article by Prof. Huw Price is a very intelligent analysis of the LENR situation and it is not a case that he is a Professor of Science Philosophy at the University of Cambridge. I think that to obtain the attention of such a Professor and the publication on such a magazine is an important achievement that has to be respected in the sole important way: to work, work, work to bring the products to a massive market. Until we will not have reached that goal, we will have done nothing really important. This also answers to the question of yours.
Update: stable the 1 MW E-Cat, fantastic the E-Cat X ( but still far from being a product).
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

I congratulate sincerely Elon Musk for his fantastic achievement. He made a very good job with the Falcon 9 as well as with the very attractive Tesla cars.
    Warm Regards,

  • Reta

    Dr Andrea Rossi:
The decrease in efficiency of one of the reactors is due to a cause that could affect the safety requirements?
    Regards,
    Reta

  • Janne

    Dear Andrea,

Please convey our warm congratulations to Elon Musk, for the successful and historic landing of the Falcon 9 first stage!

PS. If you spam this, I’ll know that he’s involved in your operation “somehow”. 😛

    Best Regards.

    Janne

  • Steven N. Karels

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

You indicated that one reactor is, perhaps, showing signs of approaching fuel exhaustion. This leads to some questions:

    a. May I assume that all reactors with loaded with identical amounts of fuel (to within manufacturing tolerances)?
    b. Were all reactors run for the same amount of accumulated time and at the same output energy?
    c. I understand that one particular reactor has been more troublesome than others. Is this true?
    d. If true, is the reactor that is apparently approaching fuel exhaustion also the troublesome reactor?

  • ing. Michelangelo De Meo

Hello dr. Rossi, can you give us an update also today? Can you say something about future projects?
I send you an article on cold fusion:
“Can Cold Fusion Come Back From the Dead?”
A new essay published in Aeon asks why we don’t hear more about cold fusion science. Is it because the underlying assumptions are flawed or because the scientific community has stigmatized the research?
    http://www.popularmechanics.com/science/energy/a18673/cold-fusion-essay/

  • HH

    Dear Dr Andrea Rossi:
You are arrived to Popular Mechanics, a magazine that has more than 50 millions readers in the USA.
    Congratulations!
    HH

  • Dan C.

    Dear Andrea,

I’ve received a confirmation from Amazon:
Your order for steel panties received.
Will be delivered at the same time as the Crystal Ball.

Crystal Ball is still on back order. They said they expect deliver from their vendor in the 9th week of March. I think there may be a problem here. They didn’t specify what year…. he he he
    —————————————————–
You mention a decrease in efficiency in 1 of the cats.

If you should need to change the fuel charge of the E-cats, Is that a difficult task or is this something you allowed for in the design setup to allow it to be relatively easy.

If the need arises to change out the fuel charge in 1 E-cat, will you change all of them at once or only as needed.

    Warm Regards,
    Dan C.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Dr Joseph Fine:
Thank you for the English improvement: I didn’t know the words “Clowder” and “Kindle”.
Update at 00.33 a.m. of Monday, Dec 23
The clowder of cats of the 1 MW plant id going stably,as well as the kindle of E-Cat- X.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Joseph Fine

    Andrea Rossi,

How is your “Clowder” of Cats doing today? (A group of cats is called a Clowder.)

And a group of kittens is called a “Kindle”.

Will you give your Cats a day off for Christmas, or will you watch them carefully even on the Holiday?

    Buon Natale!

    Joseph Fine

  • Andrea Rossi

    Ing Michelangelo De Meo:
Thank you: this article has been punlished in the last issue of Popular Mechanics and the author is of very high profile.
    The article is remarkably intelligent

    Hello dr. Rossi,
I am sending to the Readers of the JoNP this interesting link:
    The cold fusion horizon
Is cold fusion truly impossible, or is it just that no respectable scientist can risk their reputation working on it?

    https://aeon.co/essays/why-do-scientists-dismiss-the-possibility-of-cold-fusion

  • Andrea Rossi

    Mark Saker:
Very good question and very difficult answer.
We will return to this issue when I will have resolved the connected problems.
    Warm Regards
    A.R.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Frank Acland:
This article of the science philosopher Huw Price is very intelligent and it is really worth the time to read it.
He has the intelligence of my Prof of Philosophy of Science Ludovico Geymonat.

We return here to the dilemma:
‘should I have 5 balls, could I be a pinball?’
    Best Wishes to you,

  • Andrea Rossi

    Timycelyn1:
Thank you for the suggestion: I placed an order for steel panties.
    Warm Regards.

    Dear Andrea,
Regarding F9 this can be the only proper way to think until after the end of the test. Both logically, and also – for those of us of that persuasion – superstitiously!

I am reminded of a quote in a novel I read a while ago on this, that summed it up nicely:

” If you strive for success, your best hope is to present your backside to the gods, and demand that it be kicked.”

I must admit that I do tend to follow that advice when the stakes are high……..

  • Pietro F.

    Buongiorno Andrea,

mi chiedo se Andrea Rossi avesse conseguito, da giovane, la laurea in fisica avrebbe comunque scoperto l'”effetto rossi”?
I ask myself if Andrea Rossi had received, as a youth, the graduation in physics, would still have discovered the “effect rossi”?

    auguri

  • Frank Acland

    Dear Andrea,

Your work is mentioned in this article from Huw Price, philosopher of science at Cambridge University:
    https://aeon.co/essays/why-do-scientists-dismiss-the-possibility-of-cold-fusion
You may find the article interesting.

    Kind regards,

    Frank Acland

  • Mark Saker

    Dear Andrea,

Is it possible to rectify the possible expiration of the fuel by simply adding more at the beginning or would the increase in charge give a more powerful reactor.

in other words is the amount of charge directly proportional to the output or can you control the output via parameters to ensure a rated output for 1 years use. I hope I’m making sense.

    Merry Christmas!
