    Dear Eng. Rossi,

    in English this time…
I was thinking it would be GREAT if the test of the 1MW plant, coming next Oct., could be broadcasted “live” or in any way made available “live” on the Internet.
I am your same age, and I still remember “The Night Of The Moon”, Jul 19th, 1969. Also that day the History went one step further.
And that night, while the journalist Tito Stagno commented on the TVs, a great photographer, Giorgio Lotti, had been sent by the magazine Epoca to spend that time together with the old poet Giuseppe Ungaretti, taking photos of his expressions in front of the TV during the Event.
For those who had the luck to see it, it was a great reportage. One photo can be seen here: http://www.giorgiolotti.it/prev_pop.php?foto_id=prev_41114.jpg
And… well… I would like to be able to be in front of a TV the same way, next October, to be witness of another step of the History.

  • Mr Ravin

    AR,

Sir – I thank you for the past replies to my questions and again I appreciate and enjoy your transparency in responses to all the questions asked herein.

    Quick questions:

    1. On service : What is the threshold for operation before the system requires servicing/recharging. You state that it would be done at 6 months, and given theres a 10% transmutation, could you advise of the furthest limit of operation and any dangers absent that service.

    2. On production : As mentioned you changed the size of units in the plant – could you update us on your current progress with the 1MW currently in production vs projected production plan.

    3. On april 16th letter I read online you spoke of peer review request for review of your invention. You stated that you have had a bout of a trusted source attempting to gain knowledge for what was discovered as the purpose of epionage – could you further elaborate.

    3. On market delivery: How do you envision you’commercial rollout’ to occur on all continents simultaniously.

    4. On contracts signed – You mentioned you signed an important contract with an important client in the US. Without naming names or specific details, could you generally state to us in what capacity this will be adding to your business model. (i.e. production, licencing, purchase? )

5 On the patents – Could you update us where they are in the process of your current request?

    6. On scaled units – Given you are looking at smaller mini-Ecats; what do you see as the minimum wattage required to start the reaction given the smaller scale.

    7. On news – understanding that you are not going to further demonstrate the unit for scientific review but rather let the market evalutate its preformance as proof.
Are you going to be having further demonstrations in the coming weeks prior to completion of production for any type of qualifications? And where in the US are you planning your demo in the fall?

    8. On adaptability – How quickly can this sysetm be modified to work in place of heating via natural gas or oil for hot water and home heating in the residential setting?

    9. On public participation – You have no doubt understood that in some circles your discovery is of mass interest. What can we as your current public do to help you?

Again – I wish you godspeed, good health and a pleasant holiday weekend.

    Dear Mr Krys:
In Science everything is son of everything. The merit of an achievement is always the outspring of an integration of the work of all. I studied all has been published in the matter, and from everywhere I got something useful. The merit of my merit is the merit of everyone who has worked on this field, starting from Fleschmann and Pons, even if my process has nothing to do with their process and also if, sincerely, I think that no process before my work has brought to a really working apparatuses. But, again, my apparatus is son of the work of everybody in the field, because I got ideas from them all. Honestly.
    Warm regards,
    A.R.

    Dear ing. Rossi,

    Grazie, saluti cordialissimi !

    Dear Mr Richard Hill:
Sincerely, I am not a commodity expert.
    Warm regards,

  • Dear Mr. Andrea Rossi
    Thank you for the request.
The 1W Device i asked about would be to heavy due to Pb shielding to replace e.g. D-cell but how lightweight it could become?

I suggested the possibility of a device based on the Hi-H reaction that is within a form factor of about a Battery cell for carry away stuff. Main claims are:
    a self secure
b Generating continious electrical output power of about some Watt
c Thermal energy is generated inside using microNi-H cell
d Heat transfers via a miniaturized non moving parts generator and generates electricity during its travel to a cold side.
e Hydrogen is in a miniature lifetime tank integrated in the device on the cold side
f A thermal driven shutdown valve stops in case of any failure the H supply.
d Electricity can be generated using a thermoelectrical converter or /thermal_energy_harvesting/ technology
f The controller is integrated in the device as high integrated circuit.
g For startup and powerfluctuations may a supercap or accu integrated.

    with best regards

  • Richard Hill

    Mr Rossi,
In your reply to Mr Krys you said that the amount of material consumed should not affect the markets. Surely you are correct. However, markets are irrational. In October and November, when your and Focardi’s work is vindicated, there may be an immediate response in the markets. People will assume that the nickel required to make each new reactor will be significant, even if not consumed. If there is a fast run-up of reactor production the demand for nickel could surge. (Also for your secret catalyst.). It will be interesting to compare the variation in price of nickel and copper.
    Richard Hill

  • Andrea Rossi

    Dear Dr Johannes Hagel:
1- we have a secondary emergency cooling system
    2- Confidential
3- With temperature above the set the reactor is automatically stopped
4- We melt many times , for testing reasons, the E-Cats. No danger at all, we do not use radioactive materials and we do not leave radioactive waste. During the melting hydrogen intrinsecally burns, without hydrogen no reaction occurs.
    Warmest regards,
    A.R.

  • Dr. Johannes Hagel

What happens if by some defect the E-Cat during operation is not longer cooled by the water sourrounding it? How much would the temperature of the metal rise? Will the nuclear reaction stop due to high temperatures or will it be enhanced? In this case the E-Cat could melt. Is there a potential danger?

  • Andrea Rossi

    Mr Krys:
1- the consume we make of metals is so small that it will not affect the markets
2- No gamma rays have been detected ouside the reactors, in thousands of tests we made. We do not use radioactive waste, we do net produce radioactive waste.
    Warm regards,
    A.R.

    Dear Ing. Rosssi,

    Allora ho 2 domande:

-dopo l’industrializzazione, i metalli necessari (tipo nichel) per quanto tempo saranno disponibili sul nostro pianeta?

-l’energia prodotta è davvero sicura? I raggi gamma non fanno male?

    Grazie e buon lavoro.

    Dear Mr. Rossi

Simply put these are remarkable times with a strange sensation occurring that for the first time in my life at the beginning of Spring I am longing for Autumn October. 🙂

Just thinking would a Teflon coating on the inside of the reactor chamber be of any help?

Furthermore may I suggest that automotive solutions like mini E-cat powered vehicles are not directly needed as quick charging and capacity retaining batteries are currently in development.
    See following link: http://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2011-03/uoia-bcq031711.php
With such batteries inside Electric Vehicles charging them will only take minutes and as long as the electricity will be provided by a network of E-cat power-plants, these battery powered vehicles will become a significant automotive opportunity.

    Kind regards,
    Harold

    Dear Mr Peter Grombach:
    1- No
2- Sorry, but I really did not understand your question. Can you kindly explain better to me what you mean exactly?
About buying a small E-Cat: it is not fanta-science. I am working on this very important issue.
    Warm regards,

  • Dear Mr Rossi, Mr Focardi
Reading an trying to understand since a week, i was sceptic but sice Dr, Brian Josephson is editing en.wikipedia article and reading about the paper Overview of Ni-H systems … Campary,Focardi.et.al i just have to congratulate.
Based of my interrest and Job of integrating in silicon I am very pleased to hear about the “bonsai-ecat” thing. I would like to contribute in terms of electronic matters if you think that could be heplful

    Allow 2 questions please.

1 I am a bit sceptic about the non radiation of all the end products.
You mentioned alpha radiation possibly leaving reactans somewhere in the aditional questions section of the Nytechnik discussion, Will this modify inner side of reactor chamber other than mecanically?

2 In case of a No to 1 , would it be possible to have 1 Watt el. integrated no moving parts device to get rid of all the small battery stuff. e.g.by combining Termoelectrical stack / or PV cell to it.

with my best wishes looking forward to get a 5kW device 2012
and wishing all of you healt and sucess

    Salve,
Calore in inverno, condizionamento diretto (Energia termica Ecat-Energia termica Assorbitore).
    Cordiali saluti,
    Alessandro Rossi

    Dear Ing. Rossi,
In a forum where the possible use of interacting magnetic fields for producing energy is discussed (so far, the only independently verified heat has been generated by our heated discussions on CoE 🙂 ), a question about the E-Cat came up: could the heater resistor be inducing heat in the nickel — which is a magnetic material — by anomalous electromagnetic induction? My own position was that since the E-Cat reaction has been known to be completely self-sustaing, inductance should not a factor at all. Can you comment on this, if it isn’t a sensitive subject?
    All the very best,
    Alex Passi

  • Claudio

Dear, Mr. Rossi, I’m following you since your press conference in January. Let me tell you that I’m enthusiast of your discover and consider me like a supporter. So… good work!

I follow this blog every day and it is possible to find a lot general info on your invention so thank you too also to the internet that allow us to know what are you doing.
Anyway I would like to know something more regarding your job (if it is possible).
During the presentation (in January) many researchers and scientists asked you to see your equipment with their eyes and you responded them that the question was out of discussion because there was a patent pending under presentation and was not possible. Ok, right.
Now regarding your patent WO2009125444 somebody says that the E-cat require a third element involved in the reaction not mentioned on it. That is: the patent is incomplete because of the absence of this.
    Now my questions are:
1.The absence on the mentioned third element, is due to a strategy? That is: my (A.Rossi) first step is to declare what I can to do and the wipo will tell me where my patent request has some claims problem. After this step I will make a new patent including all the absent elements?
2.If the answer is yes. This new patent when will be(or has already) presented at wipo? When this will be published?
3.Have you made a patent regarding a method for ni “enrichment” and this is already presented at wipo? When this will be published?

Before to close my post I would like to say something regarding the LENR. Right now in my country(but I think in many others) there are scientists that are asking for an E-Cat to make some specific test and make a fantastic peer review. Strange fact this. For 20 years they believed in machines like ITER, Fleischmann/Pons were two idiots, Arata experiment hasn’t peer reviewed (that isn’t true) and now they elect themselves as independent scientists. So my hope is that You continue with your position: buy me a plant and after you can test everything you want.
It’ll be nice to see the 90% of scientists of the world to change their opinion in a day!
    I believe in your invention!
    Thank you
    Claudio Eterno

  • Dear Mr. Rossi,

Thank You very much for the answers you have been giving me. I am glad your work is proceeding in such a fast speed. We are eager for your results!

Here is the link to my new philosophy of Abilivism!

I call it abilivism, which comes out of ability + living + ism. It is meant to replace established political ideologies, like socialism, liberalism, conservatism, and ecologism. It is also meant to replace established theories of the good life, like hedonism, desire theory, perfectionism, and objective list theory. It includes some psychological ideas that should hardly be controversial.

It is a work in progress and I will include further texts a little now and then, but hope the ones included wets the appetite.

    Warm regards,
    Göran Crafte

  • Andrea Rossi

    Dear Ing. Albert Ellul:
1- water does not go in contact with the nanoparticles
    2-yes
    Warm regards,
    A.R.

  • Ing. Albert Ellul

Dear Ing. Rossi, I have been following this blog from it’s day one. The more I follow the questions raised by the commentors here and your esteemed technical/scientific/intelligent answers, the more I am convinced of your invention. (In fact I had been waiting for such an achievement for some years, although from somewhere else.)
I have learned a lot from your answers, but I still got one curiosity inside my brain, waiting to be satisfied: What holds the nano-sized nickel powder from escaping with the flow of the hot water or steam? Such tiny, nano-sized particles would easily get into a suspension state with the heated water and would flow with the hot water? Is the e-Cat constructed with two sections, one where the reaction takes place and the secondary chamber that picks up energy by heat transfer through the mateal walls separating the two?

Of course, if this is part of the patent design I would not expect an answer.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Dear Dr. Johannes Hagel:
    1- Yes, from 0 through 100%
    2- Adjusting the preheating input
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Dr. Johannes Hagel

    Dear Dr. Rossi,

Is it in general possible to regulate the power output of the E-cat in a continous way and if yes in what limits about? Is it done by regulating the H2 – pressure or can it be achieved by adjusting the preheating input? I could imagine that this is an important feature of a technical application since the power demand will normally not be a constant over time.

Best regards Johannes Hagel, Neuss, Germany

    Dear Mr P.G. Sharrow:
    Thank you!

    Dear Mr Pietro Maiello:
We will release the theory and the industrial products in the market in November, after the start up of our 1 MW plant. At that point the product will be on the market . Every Customer will test whatever wants. We will give all the necessary guarantees to assure the Customers that the performances of energy production and safety will be respected. The Customer will pay the product only if the guarantees will be respected.
    Warm regards,
    A.R.

  • Pietro Maiello

    Dear Mr. Rossi,

Many congratulations to you and Prof. Focardi, I really hope that this invention/discovery, will help mankind and our planet.

    I have just one question:

When do you believe other people will have the chance to study in every single detail this invention (technically and theoretically)? I guess after the problems about the patent will be sorted out (could this happen even in years?)

    Very Kind Regards

    Pietro

  • P.G.Sharrow

Andrea Rossi; I have been reading all of the posts and comments here on your blog. This has been more fun then a 3-D puzzle. Thank you for the depth of your comments. As an inventor I can understand that there are some things that should not be said. I will have some other things to email to you in a while. I pray that you solve the problem that has been bedeviling you and complete the contract. Working under a contract deadline is the most difficult time to be getting the bugs out. A friend. pg

I want to signal to our readers a book I bought today, very nice, about new energy inventions ( it doesn’t talk of our tech, my suggestion is disinterested). It’s “Break Through Power” by Jeane Manning & Joel Garbon, Amber Bridge Books , http://www.breakthroughpower.net

    Dear Mr Andy Hoffman- bis:
The big blue box is the control panel, in which we have all our control instruments. I thank you for this question, because allows me to remember that the Professors who made all the tests always opened the control panel to control that inside there is nothing that could supply any kind of energy. It is easy to open it because the top is screwed to the sides in an easy way to allow maintainance.
    Warm regards,
    A.R.

    Dear Mr Andy Hoffman:
1- 50 grams of Ni are consumed in 180 days, 0.11 g of H are consumed in 24 hours.
2- Fe is an impurity, not a product of transmutation
    Warm regards,
    A.R.

  • Andy Hoffman

Some of the 50g of pure Ni turned to 10% Cu and 11% Fe. There is no sufficient amount of H 0.11g to account for the amount of the metal transmutation. Do you Sir have explanation for it?

  • Andy Hoffman

Could you Sir tell us what is in that big blue box? Hopefully not some powerful energy source. 🙂

  • Andrea Rossi

    Dear Mr Mattia Rizzi:
I decided not to publish because the analysis contained information I deemed to be confidential.
By the way: somebody wrote somewhere that there is not point for me to conserve industrial secrets, pending the patent, because this could be resolved by signing confidentiality agreements: Dear All, please let me say that to defend an industrial exclusive with a confidentiality agreement is the same as to protect somebody from the thrust of the Niagara Falls with a reinforced umbrella.
I am receiveng from a lot of competitors, who use fake names to maintain the anonimity (which I am able to break), invitations to give them my E-Cats for “Indipendent tests”, promising me “confidentiality agreements” : sometimes I answer them, just to get fun, most times I trash their comments. I am not a genius, for sure, but if everybody understands that I am not stupid, this will help. Of course these considerations have nothing to do with the candid question of Mattia Rizzi, I just caught the occasion to touch the issue.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Mattia

    Dear Rossi,
inside the Rossi-Focardi paper, there’s a reference to an article:
More details on this analysis will be given in a successive paper
    [8]
[8] A. Carnera, S. Focardi, A. Rossi, to be published on Arxiv.

I cannot find it on Arxiv. When it will be published?

  • Andrea Rossi

    Dear Ing. Peter Gluck:
Good question. At the moment I am not focused on bonsai-ecats, and there are difficulties to be overcame. Theoretically such difficulties could be resolved, I think. At the moment the focus is on the industrial applications, because the market is there, now. But our R&D will arrive also to try to make good results with very small amounts of reactants. It is not easy, but I think is not impossible. Now I am focused on my 1 MW unit, but we’ll talk again about the important issue you put a spotlight on.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Dear Ing. Rossi,

    It was some dispute between
your supporters regarding the minimum size of the E-cat generator- 2.5 kW?
Do you mean that smaller sizes are impossible to manufacture for some technical reason or only not practical or notefficient? Again metaphoricallly, bonsai E-kittens or cat babies are excluded, or just not interesting technologically?
I imagine that you had and can manufacture miniatural generators if you wish- for special applications (?)
