    Kogek:
Acoustic waves , as any wave, consume energy: as a consequence of this fact they have to be calculated in the energy balance, not only in jet engines: when a big stone precipitates downhill along the side of a mountain, the potential energy it stores when it is at rest on the top of the mountain is dissipated in many forms of energy, among which also the acoustic energy. In the design of a jet acoustics are taken in due consideration, aiming to reduce the noise to increase the efficiency. Acoustic pollution is also a waste of energy.

The external design will be similar to the one published in the artistic 3D embodiment published on http://www.leonardocorp1996.com
The technological design will inherit the enormous experience we made during the tests and will take advice of all the shortcomings we experienced in this important test.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

    Dear Andrea,

If the 1 MW plant test proves to be positive (by your definition), would you expect the first production low temperature E-Cat plants to be the same basic design as the current 1MW plant, or different?

    Many thanks,

    Frank Acland

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

Going further down the size scale, heat radiates faster at the Nanoscale.

See attached link from University of Michigan:

    http://ns.umich.edu/new/releases/23361-heat-radiates-10-000-times-faster-at-the-nanoscale?

…..Now, in a unique ultra-low vibration lab at the University of Michigan, engineers have measured how heat radiates from one surface to another in a vacuum at distances down to 2 nanometers.

While the thermal energy still flows from the warmer place to the colder one, the researchers found it does so 10,000 times faster than it would at the scale of, say, a bonfire and a pair of chilly hands. “Faster” here refers to the speed at which the temperature of one sample changes the temperature of the other—and not the speed at which the heat itself travels. Heat is a form of electromagnetic radiation, so it moves at the speed of light. What’s different at the nanoscale is the efficiency of the process.

Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

Was geometry a consideration in selecting a 1 kW module size for the E-Cat X?

That is, are improvements in power density and (presumed) improvements in COP, self-sustain mode operation, and output power response times (to control input) due, in part, to the increased Surface Area-to-Volume ratio of the module?

Assuming a cylindrical geometry, and ignoring the top and bottom circular end-caps, the Surface-to-Volume ratio is (approximately) proportional to the ratio 2:R.
    Or, S-V ratio = (2pi)RL /pi(R^2)L = 2/R

If R decreases, the Surface-to-Volume ratio increases. For a fixed volume, as total surface area increases, the ability to extract heat from the interior of the module improves.

    At least this seems reasonable.

    Thermal regards,

    Joseph Fine

    Frederic Maillard:
    1- Probably
2- I don’t see why we could not start in the USA.
3- For the industrial it is not impossible, but to make now a schedule is impossible.
In any case right now I don’t even know if the results of the tests will be positive.
    Warm Regards
    A.R.

  • Frederic Maillard

    Dear Dr. Rossi,

    1) assuming the present one year test of your 1MW E-Cat generator is positive, will you start the massive selling phase as soon as the manufacturing lines are ready ?

    2) in such a case, if for somme reasons independent of you and IH you can not sell this E-CAT in the USA for some time, will you start selling it first in China ?

    3) is there a chance that the selling phase start in 2016 ?

Wish you good luck and all the best

  • Maurizio Verini

    Hi Dr. Rossi,
What do you think of the E-Cat jet engine: how many probabilities that it will become real?
    Maurizio

  • Brokeeper

    Dear Andrea,
In response to why smaller 1KW E-Cats you stated:

“It is because to control many small units orchestrated in parallel is easier than to control a big one. Besides, under the manufacturing point of view makes higher the economy scale.”

This may imply you have one-size-fits-all strategy whereby the 1KW E-Cats are not only singular modules but also modularized to concatenate one-to-another with a possible snap-together heat/electrical output ports with a ‘LEGO’-type scheme.

This could make it very cost affective and competitive in its manufacturing, assembly, installation, and maintenance for any domestic (and perhaps industrial) energy requirements. Is this possible?
    With much respect,
    Brokeeper

  • Andrea Rossi

    Frank Acland:
Let us complete the tests, then we’ll see. Light and electricity are not impossible, theoretically, but many more hours of tests are necessary before knowing if it works.

  • Frank Acland

    Dear Andrea,

You wrote: “If the E-Cat works, it makes heat for sure, other forms of energy probably.”

I think it is obvious that the E-Cat works, otherwise you would have given up on this project long ago.

So I think it’s clear that heat is being created, but I am curious about what other forms of energy are probably being made. Are you referring to light, electricity, magnetism? Or other forms?

Also, how is the 1MW plant performing today?

    Thank you!

    Frank Acland

    Mr “AR”:
At the end of your tests it will turn out that your plants do not work and are not reliableI bet 1000 Euros to win 3000Eyros if you fail. I bet you will fail.
…and I remain anonymous, so you can say you spammed “nobody”.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Giovanniontheweb:
If the E-Cat works, it makes heat for sure, other forms of energy probably. Such production can be integrated with any other source of omologous energy. The ways to make the integrations have to be studied specifically in the due situations. Theoretically, nothing is impossible with technology: it’s just matter of costs and convenience.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • giovanniontheweb

    Dear Andrea,

the technology you are developing and defending, once demonstrated to be reliable, can potentially invest a very wide market with multiple applications. As the process produces heat which is extracted by water/steam, is that doable, in your view, designing elements, vertical-bar shaped, for retrofitting existing fission plants cores?

    My deep Respects

    G.F.

  • Emery

    Dr Andrea Rossi
The solution of the wafer of reactants disclosed in your US Patent is genial.
    Godspeed,
    Emery

  • Pierre

    Dr Uzikov and Uzikova:
Is your technology described in the paper on the JoNP useful also for the treatment of the spent fuel of the nuclear plants?
    Pierre

  • Andrea Rossi

    Branden:
You are totally right! You know, in the USA so many are the places you must visit, that it is very difficult to suggest a selection for a 10 days trip, but you are absolutely right: I have been there 5 times…every time discovering something new. A visit to the NASA center that we all know as the Cape Kennedy is extremely interesting from a scientific and technological point of view. It’s half hour of flight from Miami, or 3 hours of drive along a highway.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Ernesto:
Thank you, very kind: most of all, somebody has underevaluated our Team.

  • Julie

    Dr Uzikov and Dr Uzikova:
    Your paper is very interesting.
Is your company ready to produce the device described?
    Thank you,
    Julie Strehlow

  • Branden

    Dr Andrea Rossi:
When you suggested the locations to visit during a 10 days touristic ride of the USA you did not cite the NASA Center of Orlando, Florida: why?
    Regards,
    Branden

  • Dr Rupert Sheen

    Dear Dr Uzikov, Dr Uzikova:
Very interesting paper. Did you make a patent application of your device? Do you have a prototype in operation already?
    Thank you,
    Rupert

  • Andrea Rossi

    Dear Readers:
On the Journal of Nuclear Physics has been published the paper of Dr Vitaly Uzikov and of the nuclear physicist Irina Uzikova ( both of JSC- SSC RIAR of Russia) ” Use of drum film devices in radioactive waste conditioning technology”.
It is a very important technology that can help resolve the problem of the radioactive waste treatment.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Sandra:
I totally agree with you. By the way: Irina Uzikov is the daughter of Dr Vitaly Uzikov: nuclear physics is a family tradition of the Uzikovs..
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Brokeeper:
We use materials fit for the purpose. If the products will be produced, the warranty will be the same as any other device of the field ( usually 2 years).
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.
