Acoustic waves , as any wave, consume energy: as a consequence of this fact they have to be calculated in the energy balance, not only in jet engines: when a big stone precipitates downhill along the side of a mountain, the potential energy it stores when it is at rest on the top of the mountain is dissipated in many forms of energy, among which also the acoustic energy. In the design of a jet acoustics are taken in due consideration, aiming to reduce the noise to increase the efficiency. Acoustic pollution is also a waste of energy.

If the 1 MW plant test proves to be positive (by your definition), would you expect the first production low temperature E-Cat plants to be the same basic design as the current 1MW plant, or different?
…..Now, in a unique ultra-low vibration lab at the University of Michigan, engineers have measured how heat radiates from one surface to another in a vacuum at distances down to 2 nanometers.
While the thermal energy still flows from the warmer place to the colder one, the researchers found it does so 10,000 times faster than it would at the scale of, say, a bonfire and a pair of chilly hands. “Faster” here refers to the speed at which the temperature of one sample changes the temperature of the other—and not the speed at which the heat itself travels. Heat is a form of electromagnetic radiation, so it moves at the speed of light. What’s different at the nanoscale is the efficiency of the process.
Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!
Was geometry a consideration in selecting a 1 kW module size for the E-Cat X?
That is, are improvements in power density and (presumed) improvements in COP, self-sustain mode operation, and output power response times (to control input) due, in part, to the increased Surface Area-to-Volume ratio of the module?
Assuming a cylindrical geometry, and ignoring the top and bottom circular end-caps, the Surface-to-Volume ratio is (approximately) proportional to the ratio 2:R.
Or, S-V ratio = (2pi)RL /pi(R^2)L = 2/R
If R decreases, the Surface-to-Volume ratio increases. For a fixed volume, as total surface area increases, the ability to extract heat from the interior of the module improves.
Dr Andrea Rossi,
After the Paris meeting soon te heaters fueled by gas and liquid hydrocarbons will be barred: this could raise exponentially the value of your technology.
Do you agree?

Jassen

2- I don’t see why we could not start in the USA.
3- For the industrial it is not impossible, but to make now a schedule is impossible.
In any case right now I don’t even know if the results of the tests will be positive.

1) assuming the present one year test of your 1MW E-Cat generator is positive, will you start the massive selling phase as soon as the manufacturing lines are ready ?
2) in such a case, if for somme reasons independent of you and IH you can not sell this E-CAT in the USA for some time, will you start selling it first in China ?
3) is there a chance that the selling phase start in 2016 ?

Dear Andrea,
In response to why smaller 1KW E-Cats you stated:
“It is because to control many small units orchestrated in parallel is easier than to control a big one. Besides, under the manufacturing point of view makes higher the economy scale.”
This may imply you have one-size-fits-all strategy whereby the 1KW E-Cats are not only singular modules but also modularized to concatenate one-to-another with a possible snap-together heat/electrical output ports with a ‘LEGO’-type scheme.
This could make it very cost affective and competitive in its manufacturing, assembly, installation, and maintenance for any domestic (and perhaps industrial) energy requirements. Is this possible?

As the process produces heat which is extracted by water/steam, is that doable, in your view, designing elements, vertical-bar shaped, for retrofitting existing fission plants cores?

It’s half hour of flight from Miami, or 3 hours of drive along a highway.

Going further down the size scale, heat radiates faster at the Nanoscale.
