    Sam:
That is my beloved Enciclopedia Treccani: I owe so much to this masterpiece of the human culture ! I possess it since I was 19 years old; my parents bought it for me as a preize for my promotion at the “Esame di maturità” ( it is the exam we have to make in Italy at the end of 5 years of high school, in my case Liceo Scientifico, to have access to the University ).
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

    Hello DR Rossi

    What are the collection of
    Books in the ECat-SKLed
    Picture?

    Sam

  • Iggy Dalrymple

    Dear Dr Rossi,
Can you display an SKLed order form at Leonardo Corporation’s website where customers can fill out online and then click “submit”?
    Best Regards,
    Iggy

  • Andrea Rossi

    Iggy Dalrymple:
    Thank you for the suggestion,
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

    Dear Dr Rossi,
The SKLed is a beautiful and affordable lamp. May I suggest a diffuser globe attachment for diffusing the light throughout a room? If not a diffuser option, then build in a recessed circular groove where the customer can attach a standard dissuser globe.
    Best Regards,
    Iggy

    artefact:
    Thank you !
    1- yes
    2- yes
3- yes, with a system uitegrated in the A.I.
4- no, but this is a good idea we can work on. There are many systems. Or simply making different models with different lenses. Or using deflectors.
We have to work on this issue.
    5- at least 1000 pcs
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Frank Acland:
1- no, but the price will be very low if will not be requested fast delivery. It will be a matter of several dollars, because the Ecat SKLed weights only 200 grams.
    2- no
3- I do not know. The measurements for the certifications are made by professional, certified and calibrated instrumentation that will be used also during the presentation
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Gian:
Thank you. All the requests will be satisfied, albeit we are receiving a river of them.
Likewise, Happy Easter to you anf your family,
    A.R.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Italo R:
Yes, and the consume will decrease in measure directly proportional. There is in the A.I. a system that allows you to choose the light flow you want.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Italo R.

    Dear Dr. Rossi,

I have already sent the order for SCAT SKLed and I hope you will soon reach the total quantity of 1 million pieces.

    An important question:

10000 lumens is a lot for home use. Is it possible to adjust the intensity of the light to decrease it to more comfortable values?

    Kind Regards,
    Italo R.

  • Caro Andrea,

  • Frank Acland

    Dear Andrea,

Here are some questions from an E-Cat World reader that I am forwarding here:

    1. Could you please ask Mr. Rossi wether shipping/handling is included in the price?

    2. Is there any difference in price when delivered to different countries?

    3. How much lux is shown when measured from 1meter from the device by this app? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.batuermis.luxmeter

    Best wishes,

    Frank Acland

  • artefact

    Dear Dr. Rossi,

    a beauty!
But there are some questions I have:

1: Does it have an exchangable cold appliance cable?
2: Will the lamp be IP65 to install outside?
    3: Is it dimmable?
4: Is the radius of the light spot changeble? (like between 30 to 90°)
5: What is considered as bulk quantity to get a discount?

    Thank you, artefact

  • Gerard McEk

    Dear Andrea,
Congratulation with the first Ecat product that will come on the market, hopefully this year.
Compliments with the looks of the light.
The output will be very bright. Can you tell anything about the angle the light is leaving the lamp?
Is it highly focused (e.g. 5 degrees) or wide spreading (e.g. 60 degrees or more) or something in between?
    Thanks if you can answer.
    Happy Easter!
    Kind regards, Gerard

  • Andrea Rossi

    Larry:
Yes, we are sending the order forms to all who requested. This work is on course and all the requests will be satisfied, I guarantee.
The AC wire exits from the rear; is is not shown because irrelevant. Just a white wire with the plug.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

    Stephen:
Thank you for the link and, likewise,
Happy Easter to you and your family
    A.R.

  • Stephen

    Dear Andrea

First of all I wish you and your teams a Happy Easter.

Someone recently posted the following interesting new video about the Ilium jet on the “Always Open” thread on Ecat world web site.

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=s0VNWIghgp0&feature=youtu.be

About 4 mins or so before the end there is an interesting part in its power requirements.

I think you will like it Engineering minds tackling interesting work in interesting ways. In a different application.

    Thanks

    Stephen

I got my order form earlier today. I recall seeing a comment that we can share copies of the SKLed order form, we do not have to use one from AR/Leonardo Corporation, so I think it is OK to share the info below from the order form.

Here are specs, limited at this point, really just a draft of a real data sheet.

DATA SHEET OF THE ECAT SKLed
    Dimensions: em 15 x 10 x 10 ( inches 6x 4 x4)
    Weight: 200 grams
    Expected Operational lifespan: 100000 hours
    Consume: 3.9 Wh/h +/- 10% Lumens: > 10000
    Light colour: 5000 K ( cold white )
The support is fit to be applied to walls, ceilings or put upon tables
    Current: AC
    Volts: 110-240, Hz 60-50

    Warranty is 3 years.

There is a photo of the unit that came in the order form email, looks like a bullet shaped lamp on (swivel??) base, just like the image posted by someone else. No A/C wiring is shown in the photo.

  • KeithT

    Dear Andrea,

Is the light emitted by the Ecat SKLed polarized?

    Regards,

    Keith Thomson.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Don Zucchiatti:
    Thank you for your suggestion,
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Don Zucchiatti

    Dear Andrea;

Congratulations on the Ecat SKLed. An idea to start the presentation on November 30. Start with a dark room and a large monitor showing watts. Turn on a 60 watt incandescent light, then turn on 60 watts of regular led lights, then turn on 60 watts of your Ecat SKLed lights. After a little bit go back to the 60 watts incandescent light. Now let’s begin.

    best wishes Don Z.

    Dear Dr. Rossi,

I’m really looking forward to the SKLed! There will be a huge interest from light engineers who will certainly insist on having a look at the light quality which depends on the spectral composition of the light. The market for a neutral colour temperature of 5000 Kelvin is huge, but this is only one part of the story… 5000 Kelvin could be right on the ‘Planckian locus’ (black body temperature line), looking like neutral light or it can be off the locus, looking a bit magenta-ish or greenish (mostly greenish to increase the lumen per Watt)… So, there are lots of different 5000 Kelvins… which may look different from daylight at 5000 K. That’s why LED-manufacturers divide their LEDs in different classes (the unit for LED-binning is called ‘Standard Deviation of Colour Matching’ (SDCM: https://www.prebit.de/en/info-center-gb/technology)).

The second light quality parameter is how complete the spectral composition is (spectral power distribution). A more full spectrum will resemble more to real daylight at 5000 K. Most LEDs have a steep gap in the cyan-ish colours and a decreased light output in the deep reds. There is also a lack of violet (deep blue) in most LEDs but I think this is an advantage because violet is harmful to the eyes (too close to UV, causing ageing of the eyes). The light spectrum depends on the used phosphor(s) which convert the blue LED-light into white. An incomplete light spectrum causes that clothes in a shop seem different under daylight, most white LED’s are very different from daylight: https://www.led-professional.com/products/leds_led_modules/kyocera-develops-compact-leds-with-excellent-rendering-of-the-daylight-spectrum/. The consequence is that different ‘neutral’ LEDs of 5000 K shining on a white wall may look exactly the same, but when shining on different colours can have a strong impact on them (the spectrum of the light interferes with the spectrum of the colour(s)).

If the spectral composition of the SKLed is on the Planckian locus and if it has a full spectrum then the light quality will be very high, indistinguishable from real daylight. Because there are so many different possibilities to create neutral white at 5000 K it is called CCT 5000 K (CCT = Colour Correlated Temperature!).

I believe that knowing the light spectrum distribution is crucial for light engineers, please reconsider this if you can.

Success with the sale of the SKLed!

    Dr Rossi,
    again about your paper
    http://www.researchgate.net/publication/330601653_E-Cat_SK_and_long_range_particle_interactions
how do you confirm the equation 14 satisfies a Lagrangian ?

  • Andrea Rossi

    Arcturius:
I did not misunderstand, the color white was the answer to your question: since you deal with wavelength, I suppose you know that white is a combination of all the visible wavelengths, therefore it does not have one specific wavelength, because it contains all the wavelengths of the visible part of the light spectrum, which spans from 390 through 780 nm. Obviously, since the frequency is function of the lambda ( wavelength ), the answer is the same: the frequency spans from 3.8 x 10^14 through 7.7 x 10^14, respectively from 780 nm through 390 nm, being the higher frequency contingent with the shorter wavelength.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

    Dear Dr. Rossi,
What is your opinion about the SKLed being a device that perform OU?
    Kind regards,
    Calle H

  • Arcturius

Mr Rossi, thank You for the quick response.

    But You misunderstood my question.

I did not ask about the colour of the light.

    I asked about the frequency.

Can You shed some “light” on that ?

    Nice regards, Arcturius.

  • Giuseppe Censorio

    Dear Andrea,
since november end is long to come is it possible that in the meantime you are able to develop the SKEelectric and show it at the presentation?

  • Ulrich Kranz

    Dear Andrea,

the E-CAT SKLed has very good new properties. In addition to the good light output, it is its small size and the running performance of 100,000 hours.

    1. Will there be any smaller E-CAT?
    2. Will there be even bigger E-CAT?
    3. a) 10-999 W?
    b) 1- 5kW?
    c) 10 kW?
    d) 20 kW?
    4. Will these E-CATs also have a mileage of 100,000 hours?
    5. Are these E-CAT manufactured by licensees?
    6. Are these E-CAT manufactured by Leonardo?
    7. When will an E-CAT SKL 5 kW be presented?

    with warm regards

    Ulrich
