    Dear Andrea,

There seem to be two different websites taking pre-orders, with slightly different forms:

    1. https://ecat.com/preorder-ecat-sklep
    2. https://ecatorders.com/ (this one asks for the preferred colour white or blue)

    Are they equivalent?

When I ordered using the first website, I did not get the confirmation email. But It worked from the second website.

    Warm Regards,
    Patrick

  • Gian Luca

    Dear A.R.
I have read that there will be an opportunity to address specific customer issues at the time of submission. Will it be possible to request an specific assembly of several SKLeps before shipping?
    Thank you

  • Maico

    Dear Andrea,
I would like to order some SKLeps.
I wish I could connect them directly to 220V 50Hz and have the same output (220V 50Hz).
To do this, just enter AC (110-240V) for both items in the pre-order request?
For the “input” I can imagine that it is not a problem, but for the “output” I need 240V, not 110, since I live in Italy. Where do I insert this request?
Do the $ 249 (shipping costs and any customs fees excluded) also include all the electronics to connect to the 240V input and have 240V in output?

Thank you for the clarifications you will give me and congratulations both for the demo and for the two innovative products (SKLed and SKLep) you have created.

    Best Regards
    Maico

    Dear Dr Andrea Rossi,

I found the problem with the FAQ. It only happens when using the Brave Browser. This browser blocks tracker etc. and it was also blocking something to access the answers of the FAQ. With other browsers your site works perfectly. Because it was working on Thursday I thougt that something is broken. Sorry for being impatient.
    Best regards

I think a city the size of Miami Beach uses a tremendous amount of electricity just powering their street lamps every night. If they used the SKLed everywhere, they could save a lot of money.

A simple experiment could be arranged to prove that to the city. The nearest light pole to your lab could be fitted with a SKLed and instruemnted to measure power, and the next one down the street also instrumented. The proof of savings would show up in a month of such testing.

  • Fabrizio

    Dear Dr. Rossi,
even if premature – hopefully not too much – I’d like to suggest two names for the next in line Ecat application:
Ecat ARHep, which would stand for “Andrea Rossi Heat production”, or
Ecat RFHep, which would stand for “Rossi and Focardi Heat production”
“Hep” also being a dated adjective meaning “trendy”, “cool”, while “Hepcat” being a funny and jazzy name to eventually address the new kitty.
Probably too greedy, but, oddly, my passion for felines is increasing :p

    Warm Regards,
    Fabrizio

Dear Dr. Rossi, I really like Gavino Mamia’s proposal:

“Why don’t you put a 24/24 hour Web Cam on a working device resting on a glass and the whole world can see the continuous functioning of a SKLep?”

it would be extremely useful for your cause, without any risk.

    Best regards,
    Italo R.

  • Koen Vandewalle

    Hi Andrea,

as it looks for the time being, we will not reach that million units sold. So we will have to order about ten times as many.
I think I would like that, but for practical and financial reasons the deliveries should be staggered over time.
What do you think of that ?

a 12VDC in/DC power out, seems to me a completely different device than 220VAC in/ 220VAC out. Wouldn’t it be fairer to offer the technically simpler devices more affordable than the ready-to-use voltage sources?

Will you eventually be able to supply devices whose power we can control via an analog signal (eg 0-10V or 4-20mA) or a digital equivalent? It’s also somewhat in the sense that my first question is intended: if there are evolved versions, then based on the global order, we can still get the next deliveries with the improved or changed features when you put them on the market.

    With best regards,
    Koen

  • Andrea Rossi

    Karl Henrik Malmqvist:
    Thank you for your insight.
    Answers to your question:
I did not say that. Your problem can be resolved putting in par and ser the standard SKLeps, obtaining the voltage you desire, then use an inverter and turn into 110/220 V AC, if necessary using a step up/step down system. Anyway, as I already said the customer specific problems will be analyzed just before the delivery

    Dear Dr. Rossi,
    why can’t i write here?
When I send a message, it doesn’t appear on your blog, not even to be moderated.
    Italo R.

  • Italo R.

Dear Dr. Rossi, I have already made this request, but apparently you have not received it
I looked at the order page for SKLep, but it doesn’t answer my question:
can I connect in parallel the outputs of two SKLeps whose output is 220 V 50 Hz each?
I believe that problems can arise if the voltage, phase and frequency values are not identical.
If you say that there is no problem, I will place the order.
    Best regards,
    Italo R.

    @Daniel De Caluwé

Daniel De Caluwé is proposing the utilisation of the Ecat SKLep to charge electric cars. In my opinion, a more practical use of the Ecat SKLep is as an onboard continuous battery charger continuously charging the battery while it’s being driven, parked in a supermarket carpark, parked inside the garage or on the drive in. A more powerful Ecat SKLep may even one day replace the EV battery.

  • Ron

    Dear Dr Andrea Rossi:
1)Did you already deliver to some pioneer-client your SKLed lamp ?
    2)is the customer glad ?
3)has any customer ask for a refund and restitution of the item ?
4)if a customer finds that the SKLed is not true about the data sheet can the customer send back the product and ask for to be refunded and within which timespan ?

  • Mats Heijkenskjold

    Dear Andrea,

    Sorry to bother you again!

In your answer to Koen Vandewalle:

“2- we will give advice to our clients for their specific needs at the eve of the delivery”
and “Further assistance will come only when, after receiving the order, we will inform you the delivery is ready.”

I think I must be convinced that my application is feasible with my knowledge of your product before I will order!
Will not risk a delivery with a huge lot of money and then send it back to you.

I think you will blocking a lot of orders because people have not enough knowledge of all parameters of SKLep.

A proposal: Is it not possible for you show some examples in very details ( electrical wiring diagram) of some common applications?

I am convinced you will get a lot more orders because of this!

    Best regards,
    Mats Heijkenskjold

  • Jean Pierre

    Hi again Andrea.
Thank you for answering my two questions with a yes.
May I ask two further questions?

    1) Is it practicable to have one SKLEP running in self- sustained mode (and disconnected from its initiating source) such that its output could feed the inputs of up to about 100 separate other SKLEP thus controlling them in concert (ie all together in harmony)?

    2) Is it practicable for one SKLEP as in the case above(SSM and disconnected from its source) to run a collection of SKLEPs such that 1000Volts can be achieved?

Thank you for your valuable time and forbearance.

    All the best. Jean Pierre

  • Albert Ellul

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

Today you have confirmed to your readers that the E-Cat SKLep does not produce unwanted heat while producing useable electrical power, and as you have confirmed: “..this is one of our most important achievements.” That is a very great achievement. I have two question:
1-Are you designing ECat SKLep modules with a power OUTPUT greater than 100W?
2-Will they be cheaper per unit of power?

  • Stefano

    Dear Andrea Rossi
I saw only that the consume of ecat is the same when you plug in or disconnect from the power supply. The basic consume seems the controller (AI). Horeover, I only saw a volt output of 12v. However the actual power generated by the ecat was not measured. The output power depends on the current going in the load. So it is 12V and how many amperes? This was (apparently) not showed.
    Thank you.
    Stefano

    Dear Dr Andrea Rossi,
I read carefully the form in
    http://www.ecatorders.com
and I see from the order forms that you have put the customer in a condition of maximum safety:
1- they pay only on delivery
2- they are free to return the item within 60 days, and be refunded
3- I ordered 10 SKLed lamps and, sincerely, I don’t give a damn about how lumens or lux are dealt with, it is not my problem. The only thing I will observe with attention will be how much kWh I will consume to have the same light I have now, and eventually I will compare the bills: if I will save money, I will be happy, if not I will return the Ecat Skled and will ask to be refunded.
So, what is all this mumbojumbo about the skled ?
    Am I right ?

  • Karl-Henrik Malmqvist

    Dear Andrea,
When ordering the E-CatSKLep you can specify 12 V or 110-240 V input.
A 100-240 V AC to 12 V DC converter is an inexpensive standard consumer product.

But when ordering output voltage you can only chose between 12 V DC and 110-240 V AC output.
However a 110 V 60 Hz inverter is different from a 240 V 50 Hz inverter and to include one that is capable of booth by a switch will be expensive and can generate a problem if not set correctly by the buyer. It is possible to decifer which type of inverter the costumer wants by looking at his country address but I think it would be easier if there were 3 output alternatives: 12 V DC, 110 V AC 60 Hz, and 240 V AC 50 Hz.

There are also countries that have 110 V 50 Hz and 240 V 60 Hz, but I think it is better for those costumers to buy the 12 V output version and buy the 12 V to their prefered output inverter in their home country.

You also stated in an answer that if a costumer orders several E-CatSKLep with 110 V AC output he will get one inverter that takes care of all the power, but how to order if he wants several independent units with a 100W 110 V AC output each?
You also answered that if a costumer ordered several E-CatSKLep:s he will only get one AI controller. But if he wants to run them independently one AI-controller for each SKLep is necessary. I think the ordering alternatives should be more precise.

    Best Regards,
    Karl-Henrik Malmqvist

  • Andrea Rossi

    Michael:
The efficiency depends on the kind of radiator, but if you supply 100 W to a load, the load will work consequently, respecting the laws of thermodynamic.
