    Dear Andrea,

I analyzed the figures of the SKLep
    preorders rising to 400.000.

My estimate is that it could be an exponential development of preorders to reach the 1 million figures early next year.

    What I hope!

I wish you a big success and all the best for the year 2022.

    Ulrich

  • Richard Fox

    Dr Rossi,
    1. Does Einstein’s matter-energy equivalence equation e=m*c*c hold for the SKLep?
    2. If so, do you have an understanding or theory as to what matter is lost as the result of the energy produced by the SKLep?
    Thank you.
    Richard B. Fox

In the USA and Europe for sure, probably also in Asia.
    Warm Regards,

  • Andrea Rossi

    Gavino Mamia:
Yes, we cut off the part related to the SKLed, because, as we explained, we retired the SKLed from the market due to the fall of orders after the presentation of the Ecat SKLep. Almost all the buyers of the SKLed turned their orders to the SKLep.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Andrea Rossi

    SMG:
We are close to 400000 units ordered, as for today.
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • SMG

    Dear Dr Rossi,
Can you update us about how many units of the Ecat SKLep have been ordered within 2021 ?

    Dear Dot. Rossi,

Will the production of the 100W E-Cat SKLep commence in both the USA and Europe once the million mark is reached?

Will it commence in other continents too?

  • SALVATORE BOI

I wish you the best new year, I wish may could be the start of production and selling of E-CAT SKLep in whole world.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Manuel Cilia:
Goes up to about 100 W
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Dear Dr. Rossi
If one controller and one SKlep uses approx 1watt of power, if one controller can operate up to 100 SKled does that mean the power usage is still 1 watt or does it go up to 100watts

    Thank you

  • Andrea Rossi

    Martyn Aubrey:
    1. It will be fit to suit the kind of asseblies
    2. Same as in 1
Thank you for your kind wishes, and we wish you too a Great 2022,
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Andrea Rossi

    Enzo Amato:
Obviously good sense will be applied,
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Martyn Aubrey

    Dear Dr Rossi,

Looking at the photograph of the Ecat SKLep on the ecat.com website:
    1. Does the ECat SKLep use standard DC5521 type connectors (5.5mm X 2.1mm) for the 12v DC input and 12v DC output?
    2. Are there matching sockets on the opposing (unseen) face of each Ecat SKLep to enable multiple units to be connected directly together in series in a block (two or more units fitted side to side in a row)?

Many thanks if you can answer.

I wish a Happy New Year to yourself and your excellent team, and great success with the commercial production of the Ecat SKLep in 2022.

You have worked extremely hard to reach this landmark point and, no doubt, will continue to work hard until the Ecat is available across the planet, and beyond!

    Kind Regards,
    Martyn Aubrey

  • Enzo Amato

    Caro Dott. Rossi,

    Saluti e buon anno!

    Dear Dr. Rossi,
What is the minimum threshold to start production of eCats? If for example you reach 800k orders and the orders more or less stop what will you do? Do you throw everything away and give up to sell your project?

    I can’t believe it…

    Greetings and Happy New Year!

  • Andrea Rossi

    Mats Heijkenskjold:
The case hypothesized by Italo R is that of an Ecat SKLep whose 12 V DC output is turned by an inverter to 220 V 50 Hz AC, that, obviously, implies a sinusoidal wave. As for what we deliver, it depends on the specific situations of the Clients, that will be discussed just before we deliver the Ecat SKLeps. I don’t think that normally we will deliver the inverters, since they can be bought directly by the Clients, but, again, we are not discussing here the specific instructions that our Clients will have when we will be ready to deliver.
Happy New year also to you !
    Warm Regards,
    A.R.

  • Mats Heijkenskjold

    Dear Andrea,

Italo R asked you the following 27/12:

“in a SKLep with output AC 220V-50Hz, is the waveform perfectly sinusoidal?”

and you answered: “yes”, which puzzled me because I thought SKLep just have an output of 12 V DC.

Is it true that you also deliver inverters to deliver 220 V AC or is it possible
for the SKLep to deliver AC by itself? Could you please explain?

Best regards and Happy New Year!

    Mats Heijkenskjold

    Dear Mr. Rossi,
Mr. Pekka Panhunen is right. Please more videos who explain the boxed SKLEP.
You can show how it is assembled to 20 boxes to run an electric fire, or 1 box to run a lamp, charge a battery of an electric car and so on.

    Dear Andrea,

as you can read in the link below, AC75 sailboats need a good deal of electric energy, stored in heavy batteries, for maneuvering their foiling arms.
Which team would you like to win the next America’s Cup? Just choose one and give them a few SKLeps 😉

Thank you for your attention to our work.
It is possible to assemble units of 100 W to reach MWs.
We have to assemble 10000 units to reach 1 MW. We already got orders for this assembly range.

  • Dear Andrea,
If you need to accelerate sales, one way is to make a new presentation where the AI is boxed. From this point of view, it was wise to leave it unboxed in the Dec 9 presentation.
    Best regards, /pekka

Happy New Year everyone
    Dear Andrea.

Some clarifications please, to understand more the impact of converting orders placed by your faithful followers when you started the pre-order cycle for the SKLed.

    1) Please confirm you plan to deliver SKLep orders on a first come, first served basis, that is you will ship by order date (assuming you have recieved payment prior to shipping)

    2) Can you confirm that the original orders for SKLed that get converted to orders for SKLep will keep the original order date so that your first order supporters will not get pushed out to latter dates. For instance, I was one of the early customers who pre-ordered the SKLed, but now if I switch to SKLep it could be 3+ months after you start shipping that I get my order unless you use the original SKLed order date (100K+ shipped per month, you have 300K orders so far).

    3) Please confirm that the SKLep will be serialized as was planned for the SKLed.

    4) Please confirm that you will still consider personally signing packing slips for the first supporters who placed early orders. I strongly suspect that many of the first orders for the lamp were just to support you since, as is now proven to be the case, the lamp was more of a proof of technology item than a decorator’s lighting fixture. This is a tough one of course….how many would you sign?

    Best Regards
    LarrG

    Dr Rossi,
I used to do R&D for the phone company where duplication and hot spare replacement (replacing failed components in a fully functioning system) were absolute requirements, so some things you might consider:

    1) Connectorize all connections on the SKlep so that it can be (a) inserted or replaced, if need be, in a matter of seconds and (b) inserted or replaced in a powered-up and running system. Some devices require certain leads to be “connected first and disconnected last” in which case the connector socket needs to be constructed that way.
    2) Consider supporting N+1 and N+2 sparing. That is “offline devices” and “failed devices” should act in a benign manner. For instance in a series implementation, a failed device should continue to carry current and in a parallel implementation, a failed device should act like an open-circuit.
    3) Provide indicator LED(s) to indicate status of the device (online, offline, failed). (I’m R/G color-impaired; I hate R/G LED indicators; but go ahead and use R/G, everyone else does.)

*** Why do I think duplication, hot spare replacement and fault indicators are important? — A 2KW system will require 20+ devices. A 10KW system (like in a car or home) will require 100+ devices. In those quantities, something’s always having “heartburn” of one sort or another– guaranteed. ***

Caveat: I’m a retired mostly-software guy– talk to your hardware, system architecture and manufacturability experts for the real scoop.

Best Wishes to you and your team,
    WaltC

I want to thank you for giving us occasional updates about the numbers of units that have been preordered. It helps us to not have to guess how many preorders have been made.

  • Barry Mead

Dear Andrea: Have you sufficiently solved the inductive load issue with the new AI controller such that the ECAT SKLep can drive an inverter? In this configuration does it matter if the output of the inverter is driving an inductive load? If this is the case are we talking about a custom built Leonardo Corporation Inverter, or any commercial solar energy type inverter? I would like to use a collection of ECAT SKLep units with an inverter to power my house, and the largest part of the load is the Air Conditioner unit which is an inductive load. Thanks for any answers that you can give, and Happy New Year, Barry

  • Gregory Daigle

    Dr Rossi,

I also had a question about the SKLep as shown on http://www.ecat.com.
The label for the Ecat almostly completely covers a large circular recess on the front of the device. Is the purpose of that recessed area confidential?

    Warm regards,
    Greg

  • Alexander Brück

Hello Andrea, in great long-term expectation of the delivery, I am worried about the shipment … 1. How is a shipment ensured that does not increase financially immeasurably – especially with a view to the possible dangerous allowance? In Germany, shipping potentially hazardous materials such as fireworks costs three times as much as a normal package? 2. Is there a production location in Europe where current orders can be picked up?
I wish you continued success and a good start into 2022

  • Italo R.

    Dear Dr. Rossi,
from what has been said, virtually every person who purchases SKLeps will receive by you customized instructions for installing and using the generators.
But orders for a million pieces and beyond, will require an incredible communication effort on your part to be able to contact hundreds of thousands (or millions) of users in a short time.
My question: will you be equipped with a sufficiently large, numerous and prepared technical structure to deal with this endless mass of contacts and information from and to customers?

    Kind regards,
    Italo R.
