    Dear Dr. Rossi,
I pre-ordered a few SKLeps in December on the day of your presentation. What happens if I add another pre-order now? Are these two orders then…
    1. treated as separate orders, therefor also 2 separate payments and deliveries, first one pretty soon after you reached the million pre-orders, second one several months later
    2. treated as one order, the additional order gets added to the first one, so the full amount gets delivered pretty soon after you reached the million pre-orders
    3. treated as one order, the first order gets added to the second one, so the full amount gets delivered several months after you reached 1 million pre-orders

I’m wondering because I didn’t see an order number in the order confirmation.

    Thanks a lot!

    Best regards,
    Simon

    Dear Dr. Rossi,
In Italy, industrial activities have begun to close, not due to a lack of orders, but due to the cost of energy which has risen dramatically.
You have already received orders from all over the world for 700,000 SKLeps, but no one here seems to know you.
I think it would be crucial for the world economy to become better known through a big and important advertising campaign.
The world needs SKLep IMMEDIATELY to curb ongoing social and economic degradation.
They say “Advertising is the soul of commerce”. If you make yourself known more and better you will receive an infinity of new orders, well over a million!
    Kind Regards,
    Italo R.

    Dear Dr Rossi,

Typically, Solar Charge Controllers have an input connection from the solar panel, a storage battery connection, and the DC output connection to the load, usually connected to an inverter.

Would the Ecat SKLep controller also have 12v terminals to allow a storage battery to be connected between the Ecat and the supplied inverter?

Congratulations on achieving 700 thousand Ecat orders. Good Luck on getting to 1 million!

    Supportive Regards,
    Martyn Aubrey

    Dear Andrea Rossi

I like the Lego approach for connecting them in series.

But have you thought about using more if a slot connector design. This would allow for easy replacement when a unit is not working without complete disassembly just by pulling out that unit and pushing in a new one.

Using a dove tail slot would allow for more robust assemblies and still allow that capability.

The potentiometer like controls if strong enough or rings or a tool interface in the top could be used to insert or extract them.

Having similar slot designed (without connectors) in the other sides could allow parallel and larger series assemblies based on separate end plates that use similar connections design.

Boxes could be designed with similar slots for simple assemblies and construction.

Would the controller connect to the SKLEP with a direct similar connector?

Just some ideas if your thinking about the design. But I would not want to change to much your preference for the aesthetic.

    Thanks

    Stephen

    Dear Dott. Rossi,

Will production of the E-Cat SKLep be based in both Europe AND the USA when the target of 1 million units is reached, thus keeping shipping and transport, and import duties the least possible in both continents?

  • Burt

Could sklep be used for three phase power appliances?

    Dr Rossi:
700000 units ordered in 40 days speak loudly of the full success of your video presentation made on December 9th 2021 beyond any possible doubt, considering that 700000 units have a worth of about 175 million $.

    Andrea, fellow enthusiasts

Great to see hit 700K, order history updated below. Dates are dates Andrea confirmed hitting order qty.

Order History (Quantities are in 1000’s)

    Days Days averaage
Since Since Total Order Rate during this 100K reporting period
Date Presentation Last Report Ordered (K) (K/day)
    9-Dec-21 0 0
    12/27/2021 18 18 300 17
    12/30/2021 21 3 400 33
    1/2/2022 24 3 500 33
    1/6/2022 28 4 600 25
    1/21/2022 43 15 700 7

Obviously hard to predict when the million target will be met. If the last 7K/day rate is maintained, will hit 1 million in 45 days. But one order from an aggressive end product developer could put it over the million mark any day, or order rate could continue to decline meaning more than 45 days.

    Stay healthy

    Dear Andrea,

Will the Ecat SKLep that is eventually mass produced (assuming you get enough orders) be exactly the same that was shown in the December video, or will there be some modifications to it?

Few questions if you can :
1- In case of more SKLeps in series ( or parallel ), what knob/s do i have to regulate to
match the proper output voltage, or there is a unique potentiometer on the controller?
2- What happens to the SKLep when the prefixed voltage of the battery is reached ? Can i
leave the SKLep connected in order to have always a real time charging ?
3- For two generating sources connected in parallel ( e.g. photovoltaic and SKLep ), do
you advice to install a blocking diode on the output of SKLep to prevent an eventual
    reverse current?
4- Is it possible for a client to swap a faulty SKLep providing he has a spare one ?
Thank you and to your staff for the great job and
    God Bless you all.

    Dear Andrea, fellow enthusiasts
What level of SKLep production is needed to make a significant impact on world energy production/needs?
As I understand, the current goal is to get 1,000,000 pre-orders for the SKLep to start production, then keep re-investing to increase production. The first order is expected to be built at a rate of 100K-300K per month, which is about 3K-10K per day, about 7 every minute. Is this where we need to be?
Using data from https://ourworldindata.org/energy-production-consumption the world uses 350,000,000,000,000,000 watt-hours per year total, and increases a bit over 1% every year= 4,000,000,000,000,000 watt-hours MORE each year. This is equivalent to doubling the energy consumption about every 40 years or so. In order to make enough SKLep so that ONLY HALF of this new demand every year is supplied by the SKLep, then 4.5 Billion SKLep have to be built. That’s about 9,000 per minute. (If you check my calculations, remember that each SKLep will not be used 100% of the time, I estimated they will be used at 50% efficiency).
These are pretty big numbers, do they make sense? They are equivalent to each person in the world using an average of about 4KW continuously. This seems a lot, but remember industrialized world uses a lot of energy, for instance a 200-horsepower automobile motor is 150KW.
This ramp up seems daunting, and certainly will need investments in the billions for a single production plant to fully automate production, and probably quite a few production plants around the world. But industry routinely puts in plants like this that can cost over $10B USD, such as brand new wafer fab. I just read that Intel is investing in new photolithography equipment that costs $250 million USD for a single unit.

  • Brokeeper

    Dear Andrea,

I have a few questions for clarification.
If more than one E-Cat SKLeds are applied, how can the user detect a failure of one or more SKLeds for replacement? Will there be a led indicator light off or will one have to know how to diagnose the failing E-Cat through VOM meter measurements? If not, would a low powered green LED indicator light be useful?

You mentioned zero spacing is recommended between SKLeds. In the picture shown on the order page it shows two female connections on the right side. Does this conclude that there are matching male connectors on the left side thus providing a contiguous Lego-type connection between multiple E-Cats for input/controlling purposes?

You mentioned the number of SKLeds ordered for home use should be equal to the peak power to avoid interruptions. However, theoretically could one match the highest (short) peak power surge with the correct number of Ah 12-volt batteries that are fed by enough SKLeds that marginally exceed (and to account for inefficiencies) the average daily kWh per year through an inverter or hybrid inverter?

Excuse me if these were asked before.
    With much respect,
    Brokeeper

  • Paolo Bernasconi

    Dear Mr Rossi

    1) Is SKLep technology scalable in term of output power? I mean with just one module, and not combining in series/parallel different modules ?

    2) Does SKLep convert light energy into electrical energy

    Thanks
    Paolo

    Thank you for your suggestion,

  • Marc Battez

    Reverse engineering

To try to block followers of reverse engineering, perhaps you can use the technique of ink manufacturers (Epson, Canon) who put a multi-layered chip on their cartridges preventing their analysis. A layer for the operation of the cartridge, the others to neutralize all kinds of readings, analyzes or copies of the circuits. It did not cost them much and they thus kept the monopoly of supplying ink for their photo printers.

    Dear Dr. Rossi,
I am preparing for the arrival of the 12 SKLep I have ordered. I am planning to install them in my house in a hinged door steel sheet cabinet, the type used for electrical installations. The cabinet has four shelves where three will each have four SKLep and one shelve is for the controller and cable junctions.
    I have 4 questions:
    1. The cabinet has no provisions for air ventilation which I will arrange by drilling holes and eventually install a fan. What is the heat dissipation from 12 SKLep and 1 controller?
    2. Can the SKLeps interfere with each other if too closely spaced (by high voltage spikes or alike)?. What is the recommended spacing distance?
    3. Is it necessary to have access (by finger tip) to the SKLep potentiometer once installed?
    4. As the installation will output >1 kW, fire risk inside the cabinet will be evaluated for a valid home insurance. Is fire risk evaluation part of the CE certification?
    Kind regards,
    Calle H

  • LilyLover

    Dear Dr. Rossi,
When someone orders n E-Cat SKL EP 100 W modules, can they receive n-1 normal modules and one special module? Or as many special modules out of n as they are willing to pay extra for the beautification. Can you entertain to make the special modules? What are the special modules? >> Chamfered corners with small radii at the bottom four corners and larger radii at the top corners. The Cat logo and the ball are illuminated with a soft glow. Also consider, for example, if someone wants a 5X5 array, the Cats and balls can be illuminated on different panels, creating an illusion of a playful cat slowly chasing the ball on the next module.
I think, the extra cost will be about 20 – 30 $, but one top-corner module beautified for advertising will look great. Alternatively, consider housing the controller in this special looking module with glowing cat and ball.
If this seems too much out there, for now, will you consider making this once the 1 M orders are produced and delivered?
    Thank you.

    Paolo

  • Ron Stringer

    Dear Dr. Rossi,
Given Mr. Babelotzky’s response to my last post, I suppose I must ask a couple more questions to make sure I am not overthinking my plans. So:
    1) Does the SKLep require a continuous power supply?
    2) Once the SKLep is operative, can we “close the loop” and have the SKLep provide the power to operate itself?
In your announcement of 2020 07 31 you did say “It works in closed loop and generates the electric energy to fuel itself…” but that is not necessarily true of the current iteration of the device.
Sorry to pester you with questions you may have already answered, but these are important operational details!
    As always, many thanks.
    Ron Stringer
