In response to Brice: A single-phase reciprocating compressor motor is still often encountered. Not difficult to manufacture, rather reliable … In terms of performance, it’s a real shit, going beyond 65% seems difficult. We deceive the enemy by cocooning the compressor, which lowers the noise level , and to recover the calories from the compressor.. Moreover, and this is specific to any asynchronous motor not controlled by electronics, we have a peak of intensity documented in all the good catalogs, between 5/6 or even 8 times the rated current; this peak is specific to each engine and decreases with the acceleration of the speed. But…there is something that you don’t see in the catalogs, it’s the current peak due to magnetization, which can go up to 25 times In (nominal current) and this during the first half period of our damn 50 or 60hz. Obviously, these disadvantages disappear as soon as we are dealing with electronic control, and also thanks to rotary compressors of the “Scroll” type. But it’s more expensive..Longtamps I haven’t looked at a simple “Table Top” that would respond well to the power of 100w, but given the market prices, I think they stayed on the basic technology ( pistons+single-phase asynchronous). To confirm!

As a thought for the future, I was thinking that it could make sense to have an optional, alternative price model for the Ecat-SKLep. That is, either priced as it is now (one price buys the device and 3+ years worth of electrical kWh) OR priced as follows:
$X for the device with a certain amount of kWh pre-included, plus
$Y per kWh for additional energy that can be bought on day 1, or purchased-before-used later as required.
Like filling up at a gas station, you’d need to be connected to the internet to pay for and add additional energy, but you wouldn’t need to be connected to use it. (Also like buying an non-forgeable license or token for a program via the internet that you can then use for next day/month/year without the internet before having to buy a new license.)
I was thinking a pricing model like this would be necessary for products like emergency power generators– you couldn’t afford to buy the generator and pre-pay for 3-10 years worth of continuous usage– initially a couple weeks worth would be plenty as long as you can add to that amount at a later date.
