Have you decided on the type of input power connector for the production Ecat MiniSKLep?
Possible options could include:
1. 12VDC 5.5mm
2. USB Type-C
3. 2pin AC mains
4. 2 unterminated wires for direct connection to a PSU (as used in the live demonstration)
5. Something else
Dear Dr. Rossi,
I just read older questions and answers. You describe how to avoid an expensive battery because a specialist could install the ecat sklep in the way if more elecricity than the sklep can produce the difference above will come from the grid.
Please add this to your FAQ at your website. I think this is very important.
A battery would cost about 5000-10000€ – a sum that is enough to buy additional 16-33 (=1600-3300W) ecat sklep.
Best regards
K.Piotrowski
In the US, and I suspect in other countries, the newer homes have a three-prong plug that is inserted into a standard outlet receptacle. The connections are:
Power – usually the black wire;
Neutral – usually the white wire; and
Ground – usually the green wire.
Some older homes accept only a two-prong plug in their standard wall outlet (receptacle). These would consist of Power and Neutral lines.
So, if you are requiring the Ground line to be present, that might be a problem. If you are sensing or using the Neutral line, then all should be fine.
@Bob Fast
Why do you want to buy batteries? You do not need to have one, just invest in ecat skl. No battery – more ecat skl.
Just read former questions/answers in this blog.

Thank you for your insight, but this situation is not necessarily destined to remain as it is.
About the plugging: The Ecats can be supplied with both cases, 220 V/ 50 Hz, or 110 V/ 60 Hz and can be adapted to any plug.

“In the scientific method, Occam’s razor is not considered an irrefutable principle of logic or a scientific result; the preference for simplicity in the scientific method is based on the falsifiability criterion. For each accepted explanation of a phenomenon, there may be an extremely large, perhaps even incomprehensible, number of possible and more complex alternatives. Since failing explanations can always be burdened with ad hoc hypotheses to prevent them from being falsified, simpler theories are preferable to more complex ones because they tend to be more testable.” – Wikipedia.
Engineers ALWAYS look at WHY something occurs or is observed – to understand the underlying limitation or reason.
Your previous postings have alluded to a requirement that the power source must be a Grid, or, perhaps, the power source must be well grounded. Thus, my previous post to explore the limits of possible operation.
If we take your requirement that the SKLep must be connected to a “normal grid outlet”, then you have precluded applications in aviation, naval, automobile, and remote location where a normal grid outlet is unavailable.
Nor have you specified the characteristic of a normal grid outlet that allows the SKLep to properly function. Is it the frequency of the Grid power, (60 Hz or 50 Hz)? Is it the neutral of the grid outlet. Will it work with a two-prong grid power where there is no ground plug? This uncertainty reduces the desirability of your technology and increases perceived user risk.
Dear Andrea,
so, if I understand correctly we can forget a car powered by an ECat.
The fact that the Ecat must necessarily be connected to the ground is something that you believe to be definitive or you and your team are working to find a solution that allows you to make it mobile.

This question is directed to you and other Electrical Engineers with experience designing supplemental solar and/or wind systems for homeowners currently connected to the grid.
My 4 bedroom Midwest U.S. home currently has an average daily KWH usage of from 20 KWH/day in the winter to 40KWH/day in the summer. What would be a good guess of the best combination of ECat skleps and batteries to supply all of my electric needs?
Steven Nicholes Karels:
Let me take advantage of the Occam’s Razor: the Ecat SKLep and Mini SKLep need a power source connected to a normal grid outlet;
period.

A.R.
I (and I assume many others) are confused on the necessity of a Ground and/or a tie to the Grid. Please clarify the following:
1. Imagine a battery driving an inverter that produces single phase AC power and that was the input to an AC/DC adapter that outputs 12 VDC that goes to the SKLep:
a. If the SKLep was ungrounded, the SKLep would work?
b. If the SKLep was grounded, the SKLep would work?
c. If the SKLep was ungrounded and the inverter output neutral was tied to the Grid neutral, the SKLep would work?
d. If the SKLep was grounded and the inverter output neutral was tied to the Grid neutral, the SKLep would work?
2. Imagine a 12V battery driving the SKLep:
a. If the SKLep was ungrounded, would the SKLep work?
b. If the SKLep was grounded, would the SKLep work?
c. If the SKLep was ungrounded and the battery negative was tied to the Grid neutral, would the SKLep work?
d. If the SKLep was grounded and the battery negative was tied to the Grid neutral, would the SKLep work?
3. If otherwise the SKLep is working, which of the following conditions would allow the SKLep to work?
a. Connect the SKLep to Grid neutral?
b. Connect the SKLep to the household power ground (Green wire)?
c. Connect the SKLep to a large ship’s hull traveling in the ocean?
d. Connect the SKLep to the frame of a large aircraft flying in the sky?
e. Connect the SKLep to the vehicle ground that I am driving?
f. Connect the SKLep to the vehicle ground that I am not driving?
Dr Rossi,
Thank you for the convincing youtube video of the Ecat Sklep.

Large shipping container ships now carry about 20,000+ TEU shipping containers. These large ships require a propulsion unit generating around 60 MW of power to propel the ship.
Replace 60 of the 20,000+ container with eCat SKLep shipping to produce the 60 MW of electrical power.

I ordered 2 ECATskled 100W but in two separate orders (first in January and second in August), AC input and AC output. I have two questions:
1. Will the two come together with the first order?
a) If so, will the output be AC and will they be combined into one 200W unit?
b) will they come together, but in blocks of 100 W and AC output
2. Will they come on order in two separate 100W shipments?
Thank you for your response.

Dear Andrea,
now when you know even more about how to control the E-cat, could you make a simple radiator just to plugin?
I saw in the interview with Frank Acland that you still working with heat ecats. A radiator at 1kW doesn’t have to be small, just normal radiator size.
Thank you. When I understood Frank Acland did set up the test I become conviced you have a legit product.

Dear Andrea,
you recently announced the AI controller is now embedded in the minisklep. Allow me a few questions about it:
a) I suppose the AI is made of some kind of electronics. Correct ?
b) Therefore, I suppose this device needs some kind of electric power to operate. Correct?
c) Is there a power supply inside taking energy directly from the minisklep?
d) To achieve a stable electrical source are you using a battery or a supercapacitor inside?
Thanks a lot if you can respond.

If people were convinced the ecat work, millions of companies and householders would order the ecat. I assume you know that of course, but with this arrangement with waiting for 1M orders you also get the time to develop the ecat to fit mass production and be in a totally ready form.
