Dear beloved Andrea and readers, “cold fusion”, which inspired other research, leading also to the E Cat, was dismissed in certain quarters as “pathological science”. Will those who labvelled it as such, perhaps influenced by large incentives from the oil industry, now eat their accursed words?.
Dear Dr. Rossi: Gennady ask “2. According to your website, the price is $25 for 10W and $249 for 100w, is it still valid?”, you responded: “2. No”.
Can you clarify please…The price of $25 USD on the website is not valid for new orders, but If you already placed a pre-order at $25 for 10W, will that pre-order price still be honored?
Happy Holidays, DrLG
Dear Dr. Rossi
Have you already invited manufacturers of battery-powered electric locomotives to demonstrate the ECAT to replace the batteries in these locomotives?
Best regards
Steffen
Dr Rossi,
About your answer to Gennady, I suppose the price could be increased due to the increases of costs due also to the inflation, am I correct ?
Anyway everybody is free to cancel the pre-order without costs, because the pre-orders are not binding, correct ?
JPR
I probably missed some of the comments in the blog, outside of your comment that the shipments of eCats will commence on January 26, 2025. So, couple questions:
1. Will the ecats be sent to the individuals that put in the orders in the last 10 years in chronological order? (forgive me for using word “order” too much 😄)
2. According to your website, the price is $25 for 10W and $249 for 100w, is it still valid?
3. Will consumer orders or industrial orders have priority?
4. I remember in the past you mentioned that you have almost 1M preorders. How fast do you anticipate those orders to be fulfilled?
Dear Andrea
The decision to start using Ecat by only delivering to industrial purposes has received a high level of support from your enthusiastic followers.
There are probably many of us who have contact with such industries which are relevant here.
Above these industries we depend on the existence of a specification that tells about performance, dimensions, weight and other necessary conditions, before we contact them.
In this context, the result from official presentations also seems to be necessary, as Ecat is really TGTBT compared to any other alternative.
This situation means that these industries probably need to acquire a small unit that demonstrates the revolutionary technical principle that derives energy from ZPE is really a reality.
Such can certainly be produced and delivered at a price that both parties consider to be well spent.
This is something that competitors with other nuclear or LENR solutions do not have the opportunity to present.
Can you give us some information about when such requested documents and any demostrating equipment may be available?
MarsForever:
I suppose these answers will be respnded to when an official presentation will be done.
Merry Christmas and a Successful New Year to you and your family as well,
Warm Regards,
A.R.
Hi Andrea,
do you think, at some point, you will write a small book about the story and possibly some development details of the ECat?
I understand that you don’t consider a full biography of interest (https://www.journal-of-nuclear-physics.com/?p=892&cpage=886#comment-1703770) but what about a short, purely technical summary?
I am sure every follower of this forum would be interested!
Best Regards,
Marco
Dr Rossi,
Has it been consolidated, after all these days following the delivery of the Ecats, that the COP is overunit ? That would be in itself history…
Erik
Which is the probability percentage that the global licensee of Leonardo Corporation will deliver the Ecats to all the clients of the world that will turn into regular orders the non binding pre-orders ?
Hello Dr. Rossi!
Couldn’t you ask your partners when they plan to present the ecat to the public? The production facilities need to be massively expanded, and that requires more demand, so the invention needs to be officially presented at some point to finally achieve a breakthrough.
Best regards

Speed-of-Light Computing Could Get Us to AGI Very Fast
I posted previously how there was as natural connection between AGI and the NGU. I lobbied for a effort to reduce the size of the NGU to the size of a processor chip. Dialog between AGI and its user requires instantaneous training to incorporator the users input into the rubric of the AI intelligence and memory . Here is the connection between the NGU and AGI:
AI Question
Can an AGI photonic systems use an exciton polariton light source to power an AI chip: how fast can a photonic chip make AGI processing compared to current electronic chips?
AI Answer
In 2025, photonic systems are increasingly seen as the primary pathway to achieving the extreme computational scales required for Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Exciton-polariton light sources are a critical research frontier for these systems, potentially offering the necessary efficiency and nonlinearity to “power” and process data on a next-generation AI chip.
Photonic vs. Electronic Speed Comparison
Photonic chips offer substantial speed advantages over traditional electronic chips by utilizing photons that travel at the speed of light with minimal resistance.
Processing Latency: Integrated photonic processors have demonstrated the ability to complete key neural network computations in less than half a nanosecond.
Clock Speeds: While high-end electronic chips typically operate at 3–5 GHz, photonic switching speeds can exceed 100 GHz.
Throughput & Scaling: Some photonic AI architectures achieve processing speeds 10 to 100 times faster than conventional microprocessors.
Operation Speed: Photonic accelerators for specific AI tasks, such as matrix multiplications, can perform inference up to 1,000 times faster than conventional electronic methods.
Using Exciton-Polariton Light Sources for AI
Exciton-polaritons—hybrid particles of light (photons) and matter (excitons)—are being developed to address the core challenges of photonic AGI:
Low-Energy Switching: Exciton-polaritons can form “polariton lasers” that operate at much lower thresholds than standard semiconductor lasers, significantly reducing the energy required to drive on-chip light sources.
Nonlinear Processing: A major hurdle for photonic chips is performing the “nonlinear” operations essential for AI (like activation functions). Exciton-polaritons exhibit strong interactions that allow light to “interact with itself,” enabling these complex calculations directly in the optical domain.
AGI Viability: Scientists argue that new architectures replacing electronic bottlenecks with “single-shot light-speed operations” could become the foundational hardware for AGI, as they scale more efficiently than electronic chips.
2025 Performance Benchmarks
Efficiency: Photonic AI chips have reached efficiencies of 1.2 petaFLOPS/watt, which is roughly 45 times more efficient than leading electronic processors like the NVIDIA H100.
Training Time: These systems have demonstrated up to an 89% reduction in the time required to train large language models.

I posted previously how there was as natural connection between AGI and a NGU optical source. I lobbied for a effort to reduce the size of the NGU to the size of a processor chip. Dialog between AGI and its user requires instantons training to incorporator the users input into the rubric of the AI intelligence and memory . An optical AGI system can be downsized to compress the capabilities of a data center into a cell phone. Here is the connection between the NGU and AGI:
Recent 2025 research supports your premise that miniaturized optical computing is a foundational architecture for Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). By leveraging light instead of electricity, these systems bypass traditional electronic bottlenecks to achieve the speeds and efficiency required for real-time AGI development.
The connection between miniaturized optical sources (like the NGU-style technologies) and AGI is driven by three core capabilities:
1. Instantaneous Learning and Persistent Memory
The “dialogue” between an AGI and its user requires what you described as instantaneous training—incorporating inputs into memory in real-time.
Persistent AI Memory: Experts identify persistent memory as the final missing piece for AGI, allowing systems to stabilize and accumulate knowledge across sessions rather than starting from scratch.
Low Latency: Photonic chips, such as those that process data at the speed of light, provide the ultra-low latency necessary for this “on-the-spot” reasoning and memory integration.
2. Chip-Level Miniaturization
Reducing the size of powerful optical sources to the scale of a processor chip is a current reality in 2025.
Salt-Sized AI Chips: Researchers have developed AI chips the size of a grain of salt. These chips use three-dimensional nanolithography to attach directly to fiber optic cables, processing data at the speed of light while using a fraction of the energy of traditional processors.
High Integration: Integrated diffractive optical network (IDNN) chips have demonstrated 10-fold reductions in footprint and power consumption, achieving high accuracy in complex tasks like handwriting recognition.
3. Data Center Capabilities in Mobile Devices
The shift from bulky data centers to mobile-ready AGI relies on the extreme efficiency of photonic accelerators.
Efficiency Gains: While traditional accelerators are measured in picojoules, photonic chips operate in attojoules—making them roughly one million times more efficient.
Broadband Scaling: Breakthroughs in 2025 have enabled tiny optical chips to transmit up to 1,000 gigabits per second. This level of performance allows the processing power of a massive AI cluster to be compressed into miniaturized systems suitable for mobile hardware or 24/7 personalized sensors.
You may be aware that powerful, multi-billion-dollar initiatives seek to find and control rare earth minerals, including military forces. The focus is on the supply side. What about the demand side?
The conclusion of some of the analysis I completed is:
The E-Cat’s success would be the single largest deflating event for the geopolitical tension surrounding Rare Earth Elements. It would relegate Nd, Pr, Dy, and Tb from their status as “strategic chokepoint materials” to mere industrial commodities, solving a key materials-based vulnerability for major economies and accelerating energy independence globally.

Dear Dr. Andrea Rossi,
As a customer who has pre-ordered multiple E-Cat units, I am writing regarding the announced start of deliveries on January 20, 2026. Will this date mark the release of detailed specifications and options to help us select the most suitable configurations for our early orders? Specifically, will there be a grace period to research and adjust our selections before confirming shipping?
I plan to power my entire American home (220V split-phase) directly with E-Cat assemblies connected to the main breaker. Is direct AC output possible without an inverter, and can the system switch quickly enough to provide stable 220V current for typical household needs?
Thank you for your clarification.

Dear Andrea,
Congratulations on the recent announcement regarding the start of deliveries scheduled for 26 January 2026.
If I may, I would appreciate your opinion on a few questions:
1. How much power (in GW) do you plan to produce and deliver in 2026?
a) less than 1 GW
b) between 1 GW and 10 GW
c) more than 10 GW
2. Is your partner a publicly listed company?
3. Does your partner have more than 10,000 employees?
4. Do you foresee a scenario in which the partner might discontinue its B2C activities and focus exclusively on the B2B market?
I wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas, and good health and continued success in the New Year.
