    Steven Nicholes Karels,
For a company making a business case to buy Ecats, they would normally also include the warranty period in their analysis (not the expected operational lifespan of 11 years, since the manufacturers haven’t, yet, gained sufficient confidence in that duration to the point of making it their warranty commitment). Solar panels typically have a product warranty period of 10-12 years. Assuming that the Ecat’s warranty period remains at 3 years, that means it would require 3 to 4 replacements of the Ecat devices to achieve comparable outcomes. If it indeed turns out that the Ecat’s estimated lifespans are confirmed by field experience, then clearly the calculations improve.

    Best Wishes,
    WaltC
