About 80% of the commercial goods are shipped by sea on Commercial Container ships. The Commercial Container ships have the main propulsion engine and an auxiliary system, usually a fossil fuel system, to provide electricity when at port or as needed at sea. A number of countries, mostly America and Europe, require the use of shore power to minimize air pollution while the ship is at their ports.
These shore power units are divided into two major categories: High (6.6 kV and 11 kV) and Low (240 V and 480V) systems. High systems at a port range from 0.8 MW to 16 MW.
The High units are primarily used for Cargo ships and Cruise ships. The Low units are typically used for fishing and pleasure boats.
An eCat SKLep-based system could provide this type of power. While existing facilities already exist in the USA ports and European ports, a number of Asian countries are considering adopting the international standard and they will require the use of such shore port for ships at their respective ports.
This might be an attractive market to enter for the Asian countries where existing electrical system power may be inadequate to provide such power for their ports.
Escalators will consume about 4 to 8 kW of electrical power when fully loaded (2 ideal persona per step). However, most of the time, they have no persons or very few persons on the escalator. In this case, the eCat SKLep provided power can be very low when commercial power is available to supplement the SKLep provided power when there is a heavy demand. Likely, a 2 kW SKLep supply of power would be continuously needed for the base level of power requirements. This could be provided by 200 Mini-SKLep units connected to 6 microinverters connected to the commercial power supplying energy to the escalator. Escalators run about 14 hours per day on the average. So, the component cost (200 x $25USC + 6 x $200 USD) of about $6,200 could be paid for in a few years.
Moving Walkways require (roughly) 60 to 70 W per meter of travel. They may run continuously or most of the day, like escalators. A 50-meter long walkway might require 3 kW to 4 kW of power when fully loaded. Again, sizing for 1/2 power would suggest an SKLep ensemble generating 1.5 kW of electrical power running in parallel with commercial power. This could be achieved with 150 Mini-SKLep units and 5 microinverters. The component cost is about $5,000 and could be paid for by savings of commercially supplied electrical power in a few years of operation.
Dr Rossi,
I suggest that the live streaming of the Ecat SSM will have the audio open and you will participate to it now and again to answer the questions we will send to EW and to this blog.

Yet another potential application for eCat SKLep technology
Commercial Pizza machines
There are approximately 78,000 pizza shops in the USA. Each shop has one (or more) commercial pizza machines. Each machine draws about 20 kW of electrical energy and they run an average of 12 hours per day.
Note: There is a political movement to replace all fossil fuel devices with electric units in the USA (and elsewhere)
20 kW electric power generation would require 2,000 mini-SKLep units which would cost about $50,000 USD.
2,000 minim-SKLep units times 78,000 restaurants yields about 150 million mini-SKLep units. At current electricity prices, the units would pay for themselves in a few years. The ovens can last for 25 years but are typically replaced every 10 years.
Dr Rossi
If the pre-order target was reached by orders only for the 10W SKLEP SSM (therefore 10 million orders):
1) would distribution still have wait for Certification?
2) approx which Quarter of 2023 has certification been scheduled?
Thank you if you can answer
Warm regards

Regarding the YouTube cut out issues. One idea I read somewhere on ECW was to have two independent streams with at least the click in view. If these were started at different times it’s unlikely they would be cut at the same time.
If from a different view point two streams could be useful in other ways too.:
Giving a different perspective maybe from the back showing the lamps illumination of something else. Or some other interesting aspect of the test.
Adding security by allowing blind spots to be checked when working with it remotely.
about YouTube repeatedly stopping your LiveStream:
It is highly likely that YouTube secretly records all LiveStream channels on its own hard drives (in totalitarian regimes and Police states this is a common thing).
For that reason, it is obvious that YouTube has some non-public set limit either in GB or time limit. Therefore, your YouTube LiveStream will always automatically stop after 11 days.
It is useful to apply and test your own LiveStream solution, which will be displayed on your own website. So no YouTube secret rules will interrupt your LiveStream.

Good question; we are not able, so far, to resolve this problem; for the black outs we resolved with a backup, but if Youtube freezes the video there is nothing we can do. Too bad for the sceptics.
Suggestions how to resolve are very, very welcome,

On the gridless SKLep — is there a positive control to turn off the output? A control line to force the shutdown of the energy generation? I believe this would be a safety concern.
Dr Rossi,
We noticed that sometimes the streaming of youtube gets frozen for reasons independent from you: this will make sceptics to think that the stops are generated by you. Can you make something to avoid such such stops ?

How much is the surge power to start the E-Cat SK SSM 100watt and 1000watt in order to know what inverter or P/S to buy.
Thank you : Mario
Recently, a press release in Germany stated that due to additional major customers, production of the ECat at 100W may occur in the spring of this year 2023.
A) Is this correct?
B) Will a grid-connected ECat SKLep 100W version and a stand-alone ECat SKLep version be produced then?
C) For consistency of understanding, could we refer to the ECat with 230VAC input as the grid-connected version and
D) refer to the ECat with 12VDC input as the stand-alone version?
E) Up to what output line has an interconnection of the ECats with 12VDC output already been tested?
E1) 500W ?
E2) 1000W ?
E3) 2000W ?
E4) 5000W ?

There have been a lot of questions concerning the start up of the SSM. Do you utilize a piezo electric ignitor or something similar to start a cold reactor?

Re the SSM version of the ECAT, does it need some sort of initial and temporary supply of electrical power to start it up (internal or external)? For instance, does it need momentary power to initialize the AI control electronics?
