    Carissimo Dr. Rossi

    Dear Dr. Rossi

I haven’t been on his blog since November 6th, but in recent weeks I haven’t stopped following the evolution of his research/activities.

Before proceeding with my comment, I wanted to wish you, your family and your team a Merry Christmas and the best wishes for a Wonderful 2024 that will allow you to finally achieve your goals, and the much deserved success, with related recognition .

I am sure that 2024 will be the “turning point” year for your L’Ecat. This will allow us who have been following her for so many years, and who have supported her with our pre-orders, to finally come into possession of the fruit of her Research/Studies/Discoveries/Developments and no less Sacrifices 😉

The weeks and months that will follow, if I understand correctly, provide a very precise and stimulating timetable (even if the dates have not yet been defined) which has the sole purpose of demonstrating what your Ecat NGU is capable of Do. And thanks to this, it will allow you to reach the goal of one million pre-orders that it has set itself to start production.

If I may, I would like to list the points of this “planning”, at least as I understand them, with the hope that you can confirm or correct what I wrote:

    1) in the next few days, probably by the first half of January, the streaming of an LED lamp powered only and exclusively by an Ecat NGU disconnected from the network will be reactivated. This streaming will be active for an indefinite time and has the aim of giving evidence that the Ecat NGU can power a light bulb for an almost infinite time without external energy input. Can you confirm?

    2) By 1Q 2024 it will carry out a demonstration with a Photovoltaic System supported by some Ecat NGUs. This “Collaboration” will produce, in one solar day, “X” Times the energy that can be produced by the same Photovoltaic System without Ecat NGU. And this is why the term “multiply” was used in the description of the proof that was done a few weeks ago. Can you confirm or correct?

    3) Points 1 and 2 are just the beginning of the proofs he has in mind. And there is one that is close to the hearts of many of us who have been following it for more than 10 years. The one from the ECAT-EV ;). I think I understand that you also care a lot about this demonstration and the answers you have given to your readers in recent days have always confirmed your intention to proceed with this demonstration. Can you confirm?

Thank you in advance for your willingness to answer my questions and I apologize if they seemed too direct 🙂

I wish you, your family and your entire team a peaceful Christmas and a super “energetic” 2024!!!

    regards

    Maico

    Dear Andrea,

Besides the safety requirement learned from the previous tests, were there any other discoveries or improvements made within the NGU since then?
    If so, could you elaborate?
May you and your team have a very Merry Christmas!

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

I posted a concept on a suitcase charging unit to incentivize people to replace their Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicles with Electric Vehicles (EVs) based on charging EVs while they are parked.

While it could be done with a 600 W output, the most common output is 120VAC at 12 Amps in Tesla’s Mobile Charger. This level charger can provide a charging equivalent rate of 7 to 8 miles of range increase per charging hour. So, the 30-mile range could be met in about 4 hours of charging.

This envisioned Suitcase would contain 16 100 W SKLep SSM units (or equivalent) and a simple 1.5kW to 2kW inverter to drive the Tesla Mobile Charger.

I would envision an internal receptacle, perhaps in the Frunk or the sub trunk, with a control to electrically disconnect the unit to allow driving, or a software switch to do the same. Internal so the suitcase would not be stolen or the charging plug disconnected by accident or on purpose.

I would think Tesla would jump at the chance to enter the NYC EV market with this enhancement, and I believe they would do the engineering to develop the Suitcase and the interfaces/software for its implementation. You would only need to supply the 100 W SKLep modules plus normal service support.

Again, 2,000,000 vehicles in NYC. Even a 1% market entry is 20,000 EV sales. At 16 SKLep units per EV would be 320,000 100 W units.

    Thoughts?

    Frank Acland:
Good point: this could be a strategic application.

    Dear Andrea,

An article from the Atlantic magazine contends that the one thing that is holding back widescale adoption of EVs in the United States is the inadequate charging infrastructure.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/the-one-thing-holding-back-electric-vehicles-in-america/ar-AA1bWdDu?ocid=msedgntp&pc=LCTS&cvid=5168b9638e7f4831b5fdb142f8f2cac9&ei=56

Quote: ‘”a recent J.D. Power report found that a growing number of consumers say they are “very unlikely” to buy an EV—despite lucrative tax incentives—in part because of “persistent concerns about charging infrastructure.”’

Question: Based on your recent experience with having to redesign the E-Cat NGU, do you think it will be able to provide on-board charging for EVs (making charging stations/columns obsolete)?

    Many thanks,

    Frank Acland

  • Steven Nicholes Karels

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

Recall my posting a few days ago about the lack of EVs in New York City (NYC)? A Google search shows there are about 2 million cars in NYC. The main reason NYC people do not switch to EVs is a lack of charging infrastructure and very limited parking spaces.

If you approached Tesla and other EV manufacturers, with this concept, you might see 10% market penetration in a short period to time. This alone would constitute about 200,000 so-called suitcase units to be required. With 6 100W SKLep units required per suitcase, the total number of SKLep units would exceed 1 million.

Imagine the desire of a NYC automobile owner who never had to worry about finding a charging station?

    Dear Andrea,
Wishing you all the success ecat and you deserve.
I have a general question. You said that intellectual properties and company earnings can help to drive the diffusion of ecat, rather than donating the invention as an open source patent. What if some big big big super petrol company will offer gigatrilions of money for purchasing your patent with the purpose to hide it and continuing to earn with the usual businness? I mean: I am afraid that ecat could be at risk of diffusion if somebody will purchase the patent. Do you have some midle term strategy for avoiding such a scenario? Assuming that at the beginning you will commercialize yourself and will protect ecat from reverse engineering. But after the first wave of commercialization, what could be the scenario?
Moreover: do you feel you have a commercialization network robust enough to sustain the introduction and diffusion of ecat, also considering any possible criticism coming from detractors?
Thank you in advances for your answer.

    Dear Andrea Rossi,

The New York City video on why Electric Vehicles (EV) are not popular was very informative.

    Key Facts:
    1. a range per day of 30 miles was mentioned.
    2. a typical EV consumes about 0.23 kW-hrs per mile – so called EV Efficiency.

Assumption – multiply the EV Efficiency by 0.5 to take into account city driving (stop and go).

Assume a suitcase EV charger, that could be loaded into an EV to charge the EV no matter where it is parked. It could be removed from the EV when the EV is fully charged so that the power could be used in the apartment, etc. To charge E-bikes, run a television – to reduce electric utility costs.

    Computed suitcase power requirements:

    30 miles/day * 0.23 kW-hrs/mile / 0.5 = 13.8 kW-hrs/day.

    Assume a 24-hour charge time.

    Output power required = 13.8 kW-hrs/day / 24 hrs/day = 575 Watts.

    Suitcase cost = 575 W * $2.5USD / W = $1,437.50 USD (plus the cost of the enclosure).

If the EV had a spare charging receptacle in the trunk (or Frunk for a Tesla), the suitcase charger would be secure from theft.

This would solve the in-city power requirements. Cross country driving would be handled by charging stations, as is currently done, or provides the ability to charge up at motels when stopped for the night or sleeping times. The motel charging would only add a few miles of range compared to interstate charging stations which could add hundreds of miles per charging stop.

This might be best handled by the EV car manufacturers offering this as an option – to induce EV sales in urban environments. I would assume that the unit cost could be substantially reduced in large quantities productions.

    Thoughts?

    Dr Rossi,
After your answer to Anonymous, December of January doesn’t make any difference, the important is that the streaming is going to be restarted as soon as possible,

Problems include lack of working chargers, hard for people living in apartments to charge EVs at home.

How do you think the E-Cat might help?

    Best wishes,

    Dear Dr. Rossi,

if the worst comes to the worst, as already someone mentioned: If financial groups sabotages you because they want to protect their investments..

Could you please make arrangements, like give sealed letters with the instruction to build an ecat to notary or lawyer. And if an described incident happens to you and your company this notary/lawyer should take action and send these letters to some friends of you, in P.R. China, India, Bob Greenyer’s ‘Martin Fleischmann Memorial Project’ or else.

Best regards and hopefully no such incident

    Dear Andrea,

Solar storms cause damage to electronic products, communication problems in aviation, etc.
Thanks for the Royal Observatory of Belgium, it has been possible to predict when a storm will occur since 2022.

In early 2022, Space X ignored a solar-storm, resulting in the loss of 40 of the 49 Star-link satellites.
The economic costs of extreme solar storms are estimated at 3 trillion euros.

    A) I think it the storms are the cause of the Ecats malfunction, is that correct?
    B) I so, is it possible to adequately protect the Ecats?

    With regards
    Jitse

  • Andrea Rossi

    A.Hornung:
We will also make public tests of an Ecat powered EV, but I am not yet able to make a calendar, also because this time we cannot have delays if not for several days due to meteorological issues,

    @Giuseppe,
This is a false message from COP28 by omitting essential content.
It is only agreed that fossil fuels will not be used in the energy sector in the long term. All other sectors, such as mobility/transport, chemicals or smelting (steel …) are not included.
In plain language, only the power supply is to become clean.

    Best Regards
    Wilfried

  • A.Hornung

    Dear Dr. Rossi,

you will start the live-cam of the ecat with LED this year. So, if the ecat ngu works again:
Can we expect the demonstration of the electric car with ecat then in the first quarter of 2024?

    Dear Andrea,
It seems that for the first time there is a historic agreement on the abandonment of fossil fuels. I think this puts your ECat even more at the center of attention and general expectation.
I wish you all the best for a quick resolution of the problems encountered and for the upcoming holidays.

    Dear Dr. Rossi,

i have to join Mr. Srajer, it is important to produce the ecat also in China. I am still afraid of the old energy companies, they fear your invention and would be able to do something against it. And there will be no protection by the Usa-government because in the Usa rule the investors of energy companies/financial groups.

China cannot supply theirself with energy, they need imports. So the people’s republic of China would smile a welcome and there is no company who would stop the production.
And if there is a production line in China, no energy company or financial group who invested in fossil energy can ratten you in Usa, too.

    Best regards
